hinted at being aggressive. as in not being so hesitant.

BE A PLAYER. execute. make plays. something parcells has asked from his players the past 5 weeks.

he finally got it.

Good Point. Really it is the same point im tryin to make to the Zimmer haters. The point is, the players have to execute the play out that Zimmer calls, Zimmer is not responsible for players mental errors, which most of the time kills us. This isn't Madden 2007 where you can use a controller to control the defense and offense, these players is what makes the defense good.

I believe when we do blitz sometimes we don't get too much pressure. Mike Zimmer can't get out there and play Nose Tackle for Fergi. He can't play safety for Keith Davis or Pat Watkins. The players have to be in the position to make plays, which most of the time falls on the player.

Yeah.....as if we are suddenly supposed to forgive Zimmer for all the games where he sucked and couldn't pressure anyone, like the Houston game.......

That is funny. Expecting a defensive coordinator to use exotic blitz packages and aggressive schemes against a team that is not very good. A team that can and was beat by using a vanilla game plan as not to tip off other teams down the line. A team that still only manufactured 323 yards and 6 points against those schemes. Yes, it is funny that there are some out there that complained about the defense in that game. Heck, there are some that complain about this past game.

I'm happy for Zimmer, he catches a lot of abuse around here but bottom line Dallas walked into the game ranked as 1 of the top defense and produced aginst a top notch offense.

We really didn't blitz much yesterday. So how did we FINALLY get decent pressure on the QB this game after not really being able to most of the season??

Zimmer finally disguised his 4th rusher. I have been *****ing about this all season. One of the great things about running a 3-4 defense is that the offense doesn't know who the 4th rusher is. Well Zimmer was making it so obvious it was defeating the whole purpose of even running a 3-4.

I was truly confused for the first time this year on who the 4th man was that was rushing, AND i had no clue who was blitzing, when we were blitzing, and if we were just faking. We truly confused their whole offense. Can you remember ever seeing this many bltiz fakes in a Zimmer defense? It was pretty damn impressive. Secondary was showing blitz and getting Manning to do his little tap-dance and then backing off after the snap.

Good stuff. I hope he keeps using this scheme.

we gotta move past the silly GROZ nonsense and start evaluating player for what they are.

time for GROTZH
GET RID OF THE ZIMMER HATERS ;)

when Zimmer looks bad, it's 98% of the time (or more) the actual players on the field making dumb or bad plays. mostly in the secondary deep this year.

our game vs the colts was more proof of a well coached team that gives the players everything needed to just go out and execute as they are expected to. yesterday they actually did that on D vs a good team. lets hope it happens again and again :)

Bang on. If we see this style of attacking defense again I will be not only surprised but pleasantly stunned.

I will believe it when I see it. If we see it more often, then you might find me pulling out my GROZ membership card and looking at it funny. But if we play that passive crap again against a limited Tampa Bay team...

For those who blame the players understand that it is the job of coaches to put players in position to succeed. They FINALLY did that Sunday-- ask yourself where that has been all year long? They clamped down one of the best offenses in the game by unleashing the defense; did they think Washington had a better offense so they'd better hold back?

I will confess that I never liked Zimmers bend but don't break defense, which often broke in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line

But I am so impressed with our defense yesterday, I think he finally got it on how to disguise blitzes and be creative on defense. I don't know if he knew all along and Parcells wouldn't let him do it, but I am going with what I see on the field. If he continues with this impressive defense game plans the rest of the season, I am off the GROZ bandwangon
