Romo missed a game.....and he also had the league's leading rusher, by a huge margin over number 2, and much bigger number over Lacy.

So what if he had league's leading rusher. Where does it say in the MVP rulebook that states you can't win the MVP because you have the leagues leading rusher?

Fact is that he beat Rogers in passer rating - which is a top determining factor for the MVP. Most QBs that have the highest rating wins out. Romo just beat Rogers slightly. Thus MVP should go to Romo.

If they are going to start breaking it down based on other stats, then they'll have to include stats which shows Romo beating out Rogers such as completion rating, 3rd down efficiency, difficulty of opponents, etc. That of course would almost be impossible to figure out. Thus the fact is Romo had tougher opponents and put up better stats against them and won out on passer ratings. He should be mentioned MVP over Rogers.

I am not making a case for Rodgers, maybe I wasn't too clear. The point of my post was to explain how Rodgers had the edge in yardage and TDs. It was never my argument for Rodgers over Romo.

IMO, Romo is the MVP, or even Tom Brady. Rodgers would be no higher than 3rd on my list. Still, like I stated earlier in the thread, let Rodgers have the regular season MVP, I want Romo to have the SB MVP.

Gotcha man. No worries. I know there are stats which show Romo topping Rogers especially the QBR. But I feel the haters are going to say that Rogers had the edge in TDs and yardage. Then if thats the case Luck and Rothlessburger should also be considered MVP as well. The selection process QBR as the most important rating as who to select as MVP. Now that Romo has the edge over Rogers, they want to move the goal post and declare that Rogers should get it based on his TD and yardage advantage which I disagree with.

Looks like that is the only MVP Romo will have a shot at. I'm sure if he had to pick Romo would choose that too.

romos qb ratings in situations

redzone - 108
2nd half - 117.1
road games - 121.8
behind - 109.9
behind 1-8 pts - 142.4 !!!!
4th quarter within 7 - 123.6

Oh yeah...he is beating Rodgers in all those categories.

Rodgers repping decidedly average numbers when behind (88.6) ,when behind 1-8 pts (84.7) , 4th quarter within 7 (84.4)

Rodgers threw 10 freaking tds against one team alone, the dead beat bears. that's a bit less than his season total of tds.

The MVP resides in BIg D

They don't vote for MVP until the beginning of February right? This makes me wonder if Romo and Rodgers play each other in 2 weeks, and Romo crushes the Packers and Rodgers looks like he did against the BIlls (not saying this will happen but it could) can they really just say, "It is a regular season award, that game doesn't matter" when they saw Romo beat Rodgers?

Can't stand Aaron Rodgers. Ever since he was at Cal and whined like a little baby when Texas got picked over Cal to go to the Rose Bowl. And proceeds to get blown out by Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl. Always been a whiny dbag. And his faking of the injury to play up to the crowd and the media was lame. Nothing at all wrong with him. And even waits at the right moment to come back out. WWF type event last week.

MVP winner is announced Superbowl week but the voting finishes before the playoffs begin. So the voting is already done and honestly it looks like Rodgers has it locked up. Romo really needed to get some distance between him and Rodgers Week 17 but it just didn't happen.

Oh well.

According to NFL.com Rodgers hasn't practiced at all this week and won't be able to practice until at least Thursday next week:

I questioned Rodgers dramatic return from injury (a bit at least) during the Lions game, however, it definitely looks like <something> is pretty wrong with his leg.

Advantage to whoever plays at Lambeau next week.

Well I remember him saying the "injury" during the last game was his other calf which I believed he acted and fell from the wrong leg so he had to say that. The other calf I'm sure is legit though.

Still not buying it. He may be a little dinged up but so is everyone this time of the year. Tony has had back issues since his surgery. He is limited in practice every single week. They are just being cautious with him. No real reason for him to practice anyways with a bye this week.

I hope we beat Detroit and get a chance to knock that clown out of the playoffs in front of his home crowd. I was always somewhat of a Favre fan growing up. Can't stand Rodgers at all.
