By his definition, only 3-5 QB’s should be paid and labeled as franchise players.

Every QB not named Mahomes needs a good to great team and good coaching. So technically maybe only 1 guy fits his definition.

Regardless, acting like only QB’s who carry teams on their back should be paid is laughable. You’re only talking about 1% of QB’s. Just not a realistic take at all.
exactly, they throw the term around as a criticism and pounce on the salary. yet, its the market. its the NFL. it is what it is.
the part is I have asked all of them, lets dump dak. who do you got that will make this team better. some dared and responded rush and that we can go sign more FAs with the money. I asked who? they couldn't answer, some whiffed and said its not my job to find FA....so they complain, they point to what they think is the solution, but they have no answers. essentially they just want to complain.

I wish this place would ban all manufactured outrage content from SAS and skip. It’s such a waste of time.
but those are the valued sources for Bash Dak crowd. who would they quote and point to if not those two....because according to them non of the coaches, former coaches, players, execs, GMs are qualified to make comments about QB, specially if its positive comments about Dak.

nah, we can't do it. it wouldn't be free speech @USArmyVet

3-5 is about right. Not sure I can name a team that contends for a super bowl w/ any regularity who has paid a non-top 5 QB as a top 5 QB.

Right now, these teams contend a lot:

KC: Top 5 QB
SF: Not overpaying QB.
Philly: QB coming off rook deal, debeateable whether he's top 5.
Cincy: Top 5 QB.
BUFF: Top 5 QB.

And you can list the teams who paid their non top 5 QB top 5 money that aren't contending for a super bowl, although of course that could change: ARI, MINN, BALT, DEN, CLEV, NYG. Did I miss anyone? Herbert is yet to be seen.

So, a very simple analysis shows that paying a non-top 5 QB like a top 5 QB keeps you from contending. Sure, there are one year wonders now and then, but mostly when you overpay your QB, you are doomed to mediocrity w/ your ceiling being losing in the first/second round of playoffs. Hey, maybe DALL can break that trend!!!!

Felt like more than 2 over the years…..
Wasn't many. Schlutz was an OK blocker. Not great or terrible. And he was a route running fiend, w/ that amazing knack for getting open. Problem was, he overpriced himself. I liked him as a player, but 15 mil for a pretty good TE? No way.

Would you want Skip and SAS banned if they were constantly showering Dak and the Cowboys with praise?

No, you wouldn't. I find some people far less annoying when I simply ignore them.

This is one of the most amusing things I see at CZ - members who get soooo bent out of shape at the talking heads who aren't constantly blowing sunshine and rainbows up Dak and Jerry's butts. Who cares what they have to say?

...And the only player Dak felt comfortable throwing to. Hence, the point.
The question is why. Is it because Dak didn't trust his WRs? The way defenses were rolling coverage? Dak wasn't seeing the field well? It could've been one or multiple reasons. We don’t know.

Scheme that didn't fit him? We're fixing to find that out.

I'm not interested in this debate. I'd take Romo in his prime over Dak any day of the week. But it's not a big gap. Romo was just a Matt Stafford clone with more mobility, and a weaker arm. This upcoming season will tell us all we need to know about Dak. I've been very critical of Dak. But I think this season he's going to be pretty good. He has to be, or he's done. At least in the minds of most fans. The jock sniffers will always be there.
