The play calling and clock management at the end of that half was horrible for SF. To come away with no points when you had all that time on the clock to start the drive is pretty bad.

Playing not to lose as opposed to playing to win usually means you will lose. I have no idea what they were afraid of. They get the ball to start the 2nd half. They are the #1 seed. They had to play aggressively there. I think every team in the league would be aggressive there. I would love to know what the 49ers were thinking.

A good front office will always think about the long term success of the team. Dallas hasn't drafted a 1st Rd QB since Aikman, the 2 other positions they haven't drafted in round 1 in the last 25 years are kicker/punter. Give it some thought.

The most important position on the team, they treat like a kicker/punter when using resources for it.
