So you’ve obviously given up as well as long as the Jones are in control. So why are you here then? I mean theres no chance right? Why are you here?
Honestly, I don't have much hope they'll ever win anything of consequence under their direction. Actually I fear it might get even worse when Jerry passes on because I feel Stephen is even more inept that his dad. I mean in the last week both tried to argue that Elliott is a very important cog in the wheel and Stephen pretty much stated that Elliott is better than Pollard.

In no world is that true. But the reality is that the priorities of the Jones' don't often jive with smart football decisions. Elliott should be cut. That's a smart football decision. But the Jones' see a guy they used the 4th pick on, the guy they gave an extension to when people said they shouldn't. They have to keep Elliott around because he's "their" guy.

I root for the Cowboys but at the end of the day I have way less confidence in the Jones than say Eagles fans have in their GM or Chiefs fans have in their GM, etc. It's no longer trust in the franchise that keeps me coming back and thinking they can win. I am just hoping by sheer, dumb luck they make a run one of these years. That's what any sane Cowboys fan is left with at this point.

QB: Dak Prescott
RB: Ezekiel Elliott
WR: Ceedee Lamb
WR: Odell Beckham Jr.
WR: Michael Gallup
TE: Jake Ferguson
LT: Tyler Smith
LG: Jason Peters
C: Tyler Biadasz
RG: Zack Martin
RT: Tyron Smith

You can flip flop Tyler Smith and Jason Peters but I'm betting they will want to keep the old man in a phone booth rather than out on the edge. That's the OL until Steele comes back. Then you shift Tyron over and move Tyler to LG.

I wish I expected more but I don't. Seeing Zeke in there is inexcusable but I really believe that unless he turns down a pay cut he will be back in the same role he had this year. Disgusting.

It's not enough. We need more around this QB. Particularly at RB and TE. I'd rather have someone other than OBJ too. If this group is an upgrade over last year I'd call it only a minor one as while OBJ improves the WRs, Schultz is a better receiver than Ferguson.

With McCarthy taking over the offense Im holding out hope that will lead to more personnel changes than this but knowing how this front office operates, that's my guess at how this all shakes out for the opener.

Cowboys!
If this a dream, please don’t wake me.

We’re coming for ya, Philly!

Much too early for this. Let's wait until after April. They will draft another RB out of need and perhaps 2 WRs.

Complete and utter failure is what we should all be hoping for if we want the future of the Cowboys to be better.

Continuing to wallow in mediocrity with the core guys like Dak and Zeke will only lead to failed playoff success and embarssment each year.

The best case scenario for the Cowboys would be horrible play that forces this FO to move on from a few of these anchors.
that is the problem, as they have enough talent to be in the mix and decent record every year.
good but not real good lol,
and dont forget coaching and game plans, play designs, these matter no matter what players you have.
And I would stay away from OBJ!

So I’ll answer the question for you since you don’t have the nads to do so. You’re here to just ***** and moan and whine. What a miserable way to live.

Unless the front office moves on from Jerry, it's just rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.

Go ahead, predict your 8 wins again next season and bad mouth them all the way through another 12 win season and claim that they are mediocre.
No way 12 wins. It looks like you haven't seen their 2023 schedule yet.

I get it and would agree except hitting rock bottom won’t be enough. They double down on their mistakes. They don’t move on from them.

This is lottery stuff and they just have to hit with perfect health and a straight flush on draft picks. I certainly won’t hold my breath but, someone always wins a lottery.

The combo of this roster and it’s contracts, the age, cynicism and fear of change of the owner and his hemorrhoid son, and the continued financial windfall of the franchise is to me, actually rock bottom.

Let's see how the draft goes and how the coaches handle things, but I think we might be closer than we think. I think that adding a WR, RB, and NT would be hugely helpful. If we can do those things going into next season, I'd feel very good. Especially if we can also get one of the Japanese kickers I've been eyeing up. Also, there's a WR in Japan by the name of Matsui who I'd love if they'd sign. He's 6'7 and 194. Wouldn't cost much, but he's a solid WR there, and I think he could do some very good stuff for us.

I should clarify, he's between 6' and 6'1". Still, decent size for a WR who could be used to possess the ball and make tough catches to get first downs. That seems to be his strength.

Are they really delusional enough to bring back Zeke over Pollard?

Franchise Pollard. Draft a big straight ahead back to pair him with. Keep both on the field on 1st and 2nd down and get Gallup off the field.

If Tyron is back, put him at LT and Tyler at LG and keep them there all year. Put Peters at RT if he's back. Give Ball some chance to play RT as well, particularly on run downs. We gave up way too fast on him. When Steele comes back we change *1* position.

Winning 12 games and a playoff game isn't mediocre.
That is true, jungle lad. 12 games is Quite a feat.
Yet 12 wins is Clark's Inn Pudding. Rich, yet unsatisfying.
Ya throw a desultory pass to a guy named Turpin to end the season. Last season a nonsensical and time wasting run up the gut, me fellows, and time running out.
I agree with you about 12 being great.
Gads! Love the wins. Love the pudding that somehow ends up lacking.
