Our defense isn't very good period. Garrett giving Washington a short field didn't help but they still aren't very good.

I loved the call by Garrett....the Skins were bailing out. Our guys were at the 45 without a Skin beyond the 40. It was all perfect...Bailey just crapped the bed on that one.

Secondary made some plays, and Cousins blew it all game. Our front 7 is atrocious...I don't want to watch when we get a power run team actually committed to the run.

Because in order to be a real threat in the NFL you need a real defense. We don't have one.

I know that infuriates the homers but I call it like I see it. This defense is a highly flawed defense.

So the Panthers who are allowing 2.5 more PPG than we are aren't real contenders. Neither are the Packers who allowed 23 points last week to the Jags. Same for the Cards. Our defense is keeping points off the board what more do you want?

It's a dumb call. You can try an onsides when you have a great D. We got away with it but you never want to give a bad D a short field.

They did OK today. This season will hopefully see if dak is our future and get the fo to fix our defense. This doesn't have to be a lost season like last year.

I am hoping that when the idiots come back from detention that they will be average. We can win the NFCE with an average Def.

We definitely benefitted from Cousins today but defense made a couple plays to help finish the game.

The Cowboys pressure on Cousins was dreadful. Cowboy fans are going to be holding their breaths all year long until this team provides a consistent pass rush.

The Cowboys barely beat a bad team (on not their best day). I'm happy for the victory, but not delusional to think this team can compete with the big boys of the NFL.

That appears to be the entire premises of this defense. Bend but dont break. So with the "big boys" they will indeed make them slowly albeit methodically drive down the field. Long drives against us and for us will likely lead to alot of close games. I think we will get more pressure as our suspended players come back. The defense is medicore.

I would have been ok with it if our defense was showing any life. At that point Cousins was our best defender. I fear a team that can run, going to be ugly.

I've said this in the game chats, but can you remember what it's like to actually like watching your defense play instead of dreading that they're going to break on every series? Good defense is my favorite thing to watch in a football game. It seems like forever since we've had enough talent back there to make a difference for us.

I disagree. You don't call it based on your defense or the situation. Teams call it when they see the front line consistently leaving before the kick. Great call...lousy execution. Just kick it 10 yards and the Skins aren't even in the picture.

I am suggesting that our defense is good enough to win games. Either our offense is top 5 or our defense isn't bottom 5... I hate it when chicken littles like yourself try to have it both ways. Our defense could easily be better than they were 2 years ago when we were a call away from the NFC Championship game against a team we beat earlier that year. They might not be as good as the top defenses in the league but so far... Judging by what's on the field they are doing their job and is there a position that you can legitimately say we are worse at now than we were 2 years ago?

They are averaging 21.5 points allowed per game... Our offense is scoring 23 points per game. Beyond that we have a +1 turn over differential in the year. Either our offense is great or our defense isn't that bad... You can't have it both ways.

this defence isnt very good, Cousins had all day in the pocket just like Eli did last week. if this team cannot put pressure on the QB its going to be a long year. 20+ points should be enough to win in this league. So we weren't a threat and didn't contend in the NFC 2 years ago. Wow my memory must be hazy, I could have sworn we were a close (possibly bad) call away from beating the Packers and advancing to the NFC championship game against the Seahawks who we had already beaten that year. My bad
