Yes how easily they all forget the lessons. Spot on. Mahomes lost a few lineman in the playoffs and he coudlnt even score a TD. This year his Oline played incredible and he just scrapes by 3 playoff games to win it.
Its hard to believe some people can walk and chew gum at the same time; really is.

I would not be in favor of that .
You can't control the board. If they are BPA, we certainly have a need to keep churning that spot.

Now my first hope would be that some monster interior D lineman fall to you and we really get serious about shoring that up. But no matter the position if you get a guy worthy of the pick you have improved your team.

I'm thinking they sign McGovern or another guard cheap, who can backup Center. Then if a really good OT is available round 1 you can pull the trigger, develop him, let steele walk next year and reap the savings. But then again they might have the best RB sitting there or someone else that is higher rated on the board at a position of need. Just don't reach, let the board come to you and get the best guys at positions of need.

Draft O line. The 40 million dollar man pats the ball like a 40 year old Drew Bledsoe and refuses to take off and run.

I picked the Eagles double digits because I felt the DL which tore through the NFL at near record levels would harass # 15 all day especially if the ankle was any problem.

Wrong . The Chiefs handled business all day long allowing the MVP to pick things apart and allow a 7th round pick from Rutgers to be effective as well running the ball .

Would not mind at all for Dallas to work it’s first pick magic again on a bookend RT go with last yrs stud LT Smith . Only makes sense try and make this offense compliment a very good defense .
Mahomes is truly great at sensing and sliding away from pressure. That combined with a healthy dose of screen passes kept the Eagles DL on their heals the entire second half..

We get Steele back who was playing at a pro bowl level before his injury. We don't need OT in this draft. We have 3 top tier ones in Steele and the Smiths.

Do not discount how the poor playing surface negated Philadelphia's pass rush.

That was a huge factor in this game.

Agreed about not altering 1st round selection due to his injury. Always take BPA. We seem to always mess up when we go for need and get away from the board.
.
Never take BPA. Foolish way to draft.

77 seems One play from missing a chunks of the schedule and Steele had major surgery / injury . Not exactly a plan .

Great idea. Ignore your board and draft for need so you end up getting an inferior player. Nothing like reaching for a player to fill a need. (sarcasm)
You're strange. I never said draft for need. Reading lessons needed for you!!!!!!!!!

No sarcasm.

Not meant as an insult at you. Sorry if it sounded that way.

However, please explain what you were posting. I simply don't understand what you mean. If you are not drafting BPA or for need then how are you choosing your players in the draft. Seems like that is the only two ways to choose.

I will amend my statement on BPA. I think you look more at BPA in the first couple of rounds. After the first 2 rounds you have to start leaning more toward filling needs unless someone that you believe is a complete stud falls to you. I am always looking for the complete game changers in the first two rounds.

Doesn't make sense. KC won due to having the best QB in the game. Not attainable.
Maybe so but it took more than just him to win it. Same could be said about the eagles, without Hurts they don't look good at all! Oh and he played much better than mahomes

Drafting either way is suicide. The draft is a complicated process, and there are many many factors to consider. Using either as a standalone tactic leads to major draft mistakes.

BPA is always a factor, as are needs, and even more important the skillset and nuances of the player.

The field conditions helped negate philly’s pass rush imo. I had the chiefs winning because of Mahomes.
100% right.

Both teams played on the field, BUT philly's speed-based edge rushers were a huge part of their strength... not so much for the Chiefs

Chief's pass rush got taken down from a B to a C-minus due to the field. Eagles gpass rush got taken from an A++ to a C-minus.

They had way more to lose, so it hurt them more.

If they had played the SB in super windy conditions which made passing hard, it woulda affected the Chiefs more, even though both teams would be playing in dame conditions.

If that game is played on a normal field, eagles win

I'm not sure what "the lesson" is?

If it's that the OLine is more important to invest in than the DLine...well, I could get on board with that, but the SB doesn't really prove that because the Eagles had what might have been the best OLine any team has had in the last 5 or 10 years....and they lost.

I think the only lesson you can take from this is:

1)Don't make 1 or 2 huge mistakes in the SB.
2) Hope the refs don't screw you
3) Having the best QB in the league, who's a future HOFer, helps a lot.
