If they don't marry, he's entitled to the ring back. An engagement ring is a down payment on marriage as many guys simply get wedding bands once the wedding takes place. No marriage, no engagement ring.

I always thought that was weird that the guy only got a tired gold band.

Or they are really loaded. This is the thing that always get me. Middle class people always expect the same economic standards that apply to them do to people that make 1000 times their income. Scandrick makes more in one year than the average American makes in their lifetime ie ~50 years of work.

If you are only making 6 figures then yeah the things you are saying are possible explanations. Not the only ones but certainly plausible. In that case, you are likely having to borrow heavily to buy it. Scandrick just wrote a check.

The problem that I see is that Scandrick loves her and really wants to settle down while it sounds like she still wants to party and have relationships with members of the opposite sex that she is attracted to. That's how I and most of my friends were in our twenties. You can do that responsibly as well.

Feel for Orlando but that is just how life is sometimes. They are both relatively young and rich. I think they will be okay.
Oh the 20s. As I like to refer to as the good ole days. I have a photo album of guys I used to date. They were like bubble gum:D

Dang man its barely been a month. Ahh well at least he got out of it before they said the I do's.

http://m.tmz.com/#Article/2015/07/07/orlando-scandrick-and-draya-michele-its-over-again

Dallas Cowboys superstar Orlando Scandrick just ended his engagement to reality star Draya Michelewith a NUCLEAR BOMB ... calling the whole thing a gargantuan mistake.

Less than one month after he proposed, Orlando tells TMZ Sports, "I have made the decision to call off the engagement and permanently end the relationship I had with Draya."

"In hindsight, it was a poor decision to propose."

"I am anxious to move on with my life both personally and professionally."

As we previously reported, Orlando popped the questionto the "Basketball Wives LA" star back in June with a massive diamond ring ... just one month after they had broken up.

Before that, they had been dating pretty seriously for about 2 years.

We've reached out to Draya for comment -- so far, no word back.

Just a few days ago, Draya was talking about how excited she was for the wedding and told TMZ Sports about plans to invite Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Dont wife up reality stars

Hit it......quit it

Please tell me he did not burn 400k in a week or two.
Pretty much all of us said he was crazy in the first place.
No chance she was a keeper...at least not for him. I guess he was just so attracted physically to her, he couldn't see straight.
Feel bad for him.

Lol ..I don't get it.

Sorry, I misread your quote. I thought you were saying you wondered why a woman just got a band to go with the engagement ring. I was thinking you thought the woman should get even more. :)

Noooo. I think the guy is getting under valued and maginalized. I think the guy should get a rock at the ceremony and the woman should get a band. Even things out:D

why would you propose to someone who you were sitting on fence about in first place? Anyone has watched these two together on tv will know this is par for the course with them.

Got the ring back or not, he still apparently got caught in the Diamond scam. That whole market is artificially inflated way beyond value.

At least he didn't get stuck in a bad relationship. That'd probably have cost him even more.

Judge Judy says, "An engagement ring is given in contemplation of a marriage." If there's no marriage, regardless of who calls it off, the ring must be returned. Good to hear O called it off. You NEVER try to turn a Ho into a housewife. Bullet dodged.

Been there done that. Lost the T-shirt. Found out she was sleeping with her ex-husband behind my back. Live and learn right?
