Scandrick Contract Restructured

What "cracks me up" is anybody trying to put the words "$3 million" and "modest" in the same sentence.

He's already spent 16 percent of his total contract value, a good portion of which he may never even see.

Not the first guy outspending his income, not the last.

A fool and his money...
A $3million home in California is not a bad investment, If he paid that for the same home in Texas, I'd look at him awfully crazy. But in California? Nah, I think it's fine.

What are you talking about, contract value he may never see? He's already got $20 million from the Cowboys. And while that may be his earnings from the Cowboys, we don't know what income he may have generated from elsewhere.

Either way, it is HIS money, be it foolish or otherwise.

It's also crazy when people don't understand that money upfront is always better than money later cause it accrues interest for you and not the team. Why does someone asking for money now have to mean he's broke? Lol
Exactly..

I understand that just fine. And nobody's ever said that Scandrick approached the Cowboys "asking for money now", but don't let that reality stand in the way of your claims.

Then our opinions differ. I think it's more home than he can reasonably afford.

It sure is, and I'm sure he's not hearing or worrying about any opinions being expressed here, and as long as his financial choices or otherwise, don't negatively affect this team, I don't mind too much.

But how could you possibly know what he can or can't afford?

Hasn't seem too, yet.

Honestly, I dont give two buckets full of poop what players do with their money. I just want to know if there is a trade coming. Makes me school girl giddy when i hear there could be a trade in the works

It's more than likely for backup qb. It also could be made for room if any certain surprise cuts happen.

Look at how other players are living and spending their money. Romo makes over 5 times what Scandrick does and lives much more modestly and responsibly.

And it's funny how it hasn't stopped you from calling it "modest" and a "good investment", has it?

The fact is that there's a list a mile long to be found of pro athletes outspending their NFL salaries and ending up broke. Guys much more famous and making a lot more money than Orlando Scandrick.

Sure, as long as they continue to hand him money. Just signed the new deal in 2015, now getting what? another $4 million? No, as long as that pattern continues, everything will be fine. We'll see what happens down the road.

In the past, he took a reduction in overall pay in order to get money immediately.

It was a great deal for the Cowboys but not one you see very often.

He might have done it twice in the past, but I'm only certain about the 1 time.

Could very well be wrong, but I dont they will make that kind of expenditure on a backup at this point. Your back up is essentially a 3rd stringer once Romo comes back. I think thats why they are looking at Davis, because you get a 3rd string with quality NFL starts

I don't see any "backup QB" worth anything close to that amount.

Doubt it all goes to a QB. Probably want space for another possible injury signing/trade and to carry over into next year. JMO

I'm hoping it's going towards a pass rusher - like crazy Michael Bennett.

Could just be stuff they already planned on doing for a while now and just now getting around to it. Dont think they would have to redo contracts to sign Davis.
