Carr has never been the same since the Lions game. His confidence is shot, and he is always out of position.

That is just so discouraging. What the hell are the coaches getting paid for? It's like when Romo moved Dez into the slot on his own - something we all wanted.

The players must talk among themselves about this stuff. I know publicly they have to be cool but privately it's hard to see how they haven't lost confidence in the coaches.

Apparently, the defensive adjustment to put Scandrick on Garcon was made by....Scandrick. I had hoped that our defensive coaches had made the decision. It's disappointing that our coaches can't make these in game adjustments and it speaks poorly of the staff as a whole. Oh well, I'm just glad that he had the courage to make the change as Carr was getting abused.

I was hoping it was the coaches, too, but, honestly, I also kind of like it that the players would take it upon themselves to take control of the situation. This team is beat up, and they lack defensive talent, but they do play hard and want to win.

Also, this line is amusing: "That's a great matchup for [Carr]. It just wasn't his day. Not making any excuses for him, but he was sick. He was dragging. He's getting IVs before the game. He looked out of it.” Not making any excuses for him, but he was sick, dragging, getting IVs, and was out of it. :)

It is a bit concerning that it took a player to notice this and not a coach. Maybe they did notice it and thought different, IDK. It is never a good thing when players take it upon themselves to change things up. Is it taking initiative? Yes, but they should not do that on their own at this level.

If Carr was that dehydrated before the game, plan on limiting his snaps or have someone else start and he comes in on crucial downs to conserve what energy he had. That is a fail on the coaching staff if others saw he was not ready yet they forced him in there.

Injuries probably played into that decision to start but he appeared to not be ready from the start. It should have not taken that long to make a change, whether it came from Orlando or the coaches.

I have no idea why the coaches didn't make the change. It was obvious before the game that Carr cannot cover those trailing crossing routes, and the pick plays beat him. We were getting eaten alive.

But players take it upon themselves to do these things from time to time. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. Irvin famously changed places with Harper on Harper's big catch and run v. SF, thinking the ball would go to him on that play (it obviously did not). And just this season we saw Tony move Dez into the slot from the split end. It happens, we just don't hear about it too much.

Wow....................we got Scandrick being a pseudo defensive coordinator switching the assignments of players in the secondary and we got Romo stopping Garrett from calling a timeout 25 seconds too early.

This literally has to be the worst coaching staff in the league...................its almost like the players are having to go by "pick up game rules" and just adjust on the fly.....................amazing.

With that being said, Garrett can still save his job with a win next week.....................lose to the Eagles and he is done.

Players with talent and insight do that at times. I don't see it as a problem if it works. I made the comment they needed to move Scandrick on Garcon. I thought the coaches had adjusted. I can promise you they didn't NOT see it and the fact they left if alone shows they aren't completely out of it. Head's up move by OScan.

I honestly before this year never liked Scan. I have to hand it to Scan he is playing good ball this year. He has been the best db on this team this year and best player on D along with Hatcher. He has been one of few players that seem to give a damn! I am now a Scandrick fan.

Exactly. I know we've had a lot of injuries, but I really want Kiffin gone. We get beat by the same crossing routes every game and it takes a PLAYER to make a potential game saving adjustment like this?! Carr was ill and getting abused, yet you don't put your best CB on Garcon? Pathetic coaching. Great jobScandrick. I just wish that guy could learn how to hold on to an interception.

Totally agree, the announcers were saying the same thing also.

I have to chime in. It is a SHAME that politics, money and ego get in the way of WINNING. Carr was probably on Garcon because Carr makes the most money. And it is a shame that the coaches did not have the GUTS to make the switch. Clearly Carr is sick, lacking confidence etc.....so with our season on the line....the coaches were going to continue the company line as opposed to try to WIN!?!?!?

Ole' Monte is probably sleeping half the time in the booth. He probably wakes up some days and doesn't realize what planet he is on. He should retire.

I know you're being funny, but the thought has crossed my mind a couple of times they have shown him up in the booth that I could easily see him dosing off. :D
