Not new-news, but thanks. Goes back to the older threads on the Scandrick/Jenkins rotation. I personally like Scandrick better because I think he closes distance faster and makes better open-field tackles and plays against the run.

I'm talking about closing speed, not make-up speed ;) Jenkins definitely has crazy make-up speed but he needs to work on opening his hips and running with the WR instead of relying on pure athleticism. Better WRs will make him look silly.

It doesn’t matter when you play Wades Cover 4 or when your D-Line/LBs are rushing the QB with no regard to the run.

Scandrick will have a great game.

Jenkins had a pick kind of stolen from him, and he dropped a TD INT.

Jenkins is going to get the next one.

Scandrick's turn to start
Orlando Scandrick, it’s your turn.

The Dallas Cowboys’ second-year cornerback will start opposite Terence Newman in Sunday night’s highly anticipated home opener against the New York Giants at new Cowboys Stadium.

Scandrick and fellow second-year cornerback Mike Jenkins, named co-starters before the regular season, will rotate games as the starter, at least until one decisively pulls ahead of the other.

Jenkins started last week at Tampa Bay, his hometown.

“Of course, it means everything to me,” Scandrick said of getting the start. “I just want to come out this game and make a lot of plays and just stand out and win.”

Scandrick, who played last week in nickel packages, will match up against Giants receivers Steve Smith and Mario Manningham, and an otherwise unheralded cast that, much like the Cowboys’ corps without Terrell Owens, is out to prove it can succeed without former No. 1 receiver Plaxico Burress.

A crowd of more than 100,000 is expected to attend the nationally televised game, a mix that adds a layer of intensity to an already rich division rivalry.

“Electric, electric,” Scandrick said of his expectations of the atmosphere at Cowboys Stadium. “I’m charged up for this game. It’s a big game, it means a lot and it’s a chance to make a statement to the whole NFC East and the whole NFL.”

If Oscan does his thing can we please have him starting on a regular basis. I've seen enough from Jenkins to know he isn't starter material..YET..

I agree, he's better at closing in on a tackle. But he still gives up the catch. Jenkins is better at swatting it away or picking it off.

Their WR core isn't that good. I'd be surprised if he can't do his thing.

I hate looking at a Draft pick and thinking "we could have had _______________ instead." Especially this early in a player's career. On top of this I genuinely like Mike Jenkins. But man, do I wish we had drafted my boy Antoine Cason. I like what he has done in the NFL better and I think he would be a good Punt Returner in the NFL as he was at Arizona.

I am not down on Jenkins, but I think he gambles too much and relies on his physical gifts over learning the game.

I am down on jenkins. He looks lazy at times, he seems to have a prima donna attitude and He has shown zero to make me believe he wants to stick his nose in the pile.
