Scary Thought re: Bennett

He wasn't a scheme fit it had nothing to do with being good enough.

The Pats screwed it up, don't make it some point about "Dallas doesn't have the talent to win b/c they picked up this guy" because it's a bad one and colossally wrong.

Bennett was amazing last night.

Bennett was not good enough to play for the Patriots this year.

That is all.
No surprise, really.

Bennet has stated several times since the trade that he’s 1) more comfortable in a 4-3 scheme and 2) wants a regular amount of rotational snaps per game — neither of which was gonna happen in NE.

Sounds like something you'd say to yourself to make it seem better than what it is...

They could have kept him for depth.

I refuse to accept the Pats just traded him for a 7th rounder because he "didn't fit their scheme" something else went down. He's either not that great (or not great enough for the pats defense) or his attitude got the best of him...

He played great last night though so I'm eliminating that "not great" possibility

He asked to be traded because he wasn't playing - but it's no mystery that he didn't like the DL coach.

Bennett is a great player, especially for this defense. Idk why NE would sign him if they were going to ask him to do anything else, but it's on them. The point the OP is getting at is wrong.

Did you say the same thing about Amari Cooper and the Raiders last year?
Great point. People where complaining that cooper was slowing down 2017/early 2018 and that the cowboys got a player on the decline.

1 year later he has 700 yards and 6 touchdowns in just the first half of the season

He actually missed a lot of tackles between those great plays..........which is why he wasn't playing in NE.

Impactful player that makes a lot of mental mistakes. A guy who has to be treated differently from other players.

The Cowboys did exactly the right thing by getting him on the roster for the remaining part of the year and then parting ways.

So funny that three of you made up out of thin air a “point” I was trying to make and then proceeded to criticize it.

Some of you are always looking for a fight and need to grow up.

The statement speaks for itself. It speaks to the quality of the NE defense. Just like we cut Taco because of the quality of our D-line.

Nothing more.

What is my point- all knowing one.

You’re wrong.

So you eliminated "he's not that great" so... it was all attitude?

I didn’t make that point. You just made it up to sound smart.
