I didn't know we released Fabini. When did that happen?

Man, what a waste if true. My biggest gripe about Parcells is his OL moves.

Ryan Young
Jason Fabini
Starting Petitti too soon, then releasing him to keep Fabini.
Jacob Rogers
Stephen Peterman
Torin Tucker
Marco Rivera

Did I miss any?

At almost every turn he blew it.
I thought Tucker would have been good if he was left at guard where he dominated in college. I think Parcells screwed him by forcing him to be a Tackle, and he never showed on any level that he could play that position.

For the life of me, I'll never understand the Pettiti love-fest. Of course, a huge part of it had to do with people kissing up to his dad, but my God that was the worst season of offensive line play I've ever seen. No foot speed, no balance, no natural strength. I mean, Torrin Tucker was bad, but he would have a couple of good games mixed in with the occasional abysmal game. Pettiti was just awful week-in/week-out. If you're going to be a concrete footed mauler RT, could you at least not get driven straight backwards on every bull rush?
I usually dont agree with you, but you are on the money with this. Pettiti was dreadful even with Witten helping. That doesnt mean I thought Fabini was better, but Pettiti sucked arse hard

That's funny.

You could pick out Pettit's faults easily enough... but when it came to Bledsoe the InmanRoshi observation bus was off that day. Interesting.

I thought Bledsoe was a good veteran stop gap until we found a young talent to take over, which is essentially what happened. I was also the first person on the Romo bandwagon three years ago when most people were saying that anyone who thought an undrafted free agent could be a franchise quarterback were fooling themselves.

But you're one to talk about an eye for talent.

Let's see .. first you said Shawn Andrews was too fat and lazy to draft in the first round. I believe he's already first team All Pro in his 3rd year in the league.

Then the following draft you called Shawne Merriman the next Mike Mamula. I believe he led the league in sacks last year.

Then last year you said that Kamerion Wimbley was overrated and nothing special ... I believe he had 11.5 sacks in his rookie year.

If I'm the board scribe, does that make you the board Larry Lacewell?

Who do you not like this year? I'm still undecided about who I like at #22, so I'm looking for a player to root for. History has shown they'll be All Pro within three years.

Monday, March 26

The Washington Commanders signed former Dallas and New York Jets offensive tackle Jason Fabini to a one-year contract worth $30.6 million in attempts to keep all free agent signings around the $30 million dollar mark. The Cowboys released Fabini earlier this month.

Chauk this one up on that other threads list... :laugh2:

:laugh1: OMG

yes, ice, even w/ 8 teams interested, he chose to sign w/ the Cowboys, can you believe that? Kosier wanted to play in Dallas and was offered a reasonable deal, and took it, those other interested parties didn't have a chance to talk to him

it really doesn't matter how many teams were interested, Dallas wouldn't let him leave, and Kosier wasn't trying hard to let that happen, and he was a good aquisition for us

I never said much about Andrews and Wimbley. I had some go arounds with Ogt and Manny Lawson but Wimbley I didn't have a great deal of feeling about. NOW if you said I was against a skinny, all pass-rush, no run guy opposite of Ware then you would be correct (and I still believe that to this day).

Yeah I knocked Merriman but the last time I looked the guy was found to be a convicted cheater. I think we got the better all around player in Ware quite frankly-- and he has much better character.

By the way "scribe" it's not all about sacks either. Maybe it's time to put down the pen and learn some of the finer points of the game. ;)

not arguing that point at all. in fact, most of what i *was* arguing about as far as i know has been cleared up, so i'm glad we got a couple of "cast offs" and we'll hope they pan out for us. : )

so far Kosier has panned out, we averaged 4.9 yards a carry running to the left-side last year
