Romo is a starting QB, one the top 10 in the league and a legit all Pro with a good team.
No possible way we get nothing from him
Jerry is blinded. We will get nothing. An awful way to run a team. What kind of moron doesn't get something in return for Romo? A team once used a 1st Rd pick on Brandon Weeden. We can get something.
IF he plays (and I do except him to, then of course it's a factor.
We were discussing the money while playing vs not getting money if he doesn't. That does not include the scenario at all of playing for free.
I fully expect him to play, btw.
Who is 37, who has missed 28 out of the last 32 games, and who seemingly is no longer able to remain uninjured.
Aside from a few people, most agree. They will take their time to find the best situation for Romo. This is the part that some people continue to fail to understand.
There is no rush.

But if anyone thinks patience means holding onto him through camp waiting for another Sam Bradford miracle, it is not happening.
Seriously, this has dragged on to the point of almost being excruciating. And it's mainly because it goes all the way back to pre-season of last year, and all through the season. If they would have just said much earlier on that this is officially Dak's team now and they will look to move Romo in the offseason, this whole situation likely wouldn't have reached the point of ad nauseum already.I don't care anymore. This Romo thing is bordering "5th District Court" in 2010.
Why would a team trade when everyone knows he will have to be released at some point? This decision was made the minute that Tony was made the back up. For everything that Dak did and all the great things that were accomplished last year, but by not giving Tony his job back, killed any value that he had. Just think, if Tony played out the rest of the year, looked like the Tony of old, like he did in his one series, and didn't get injured again.. his trade value would be off the charts. But the FO decided to stay with the "hot" hand, and by doing so, killed any trade value that Tony would have. At that moment, every team knew that Tony would not be on the Cowboys. You don't pay for something when you know you can get it for free. This really doesn't have anything to do with Jerry and how he feels about Tony or releasing him to do what's right by Tony. Teams aren't stupid and are not going to offer any picks when he will be released anyway.

This seriously can't be over, one way or another, soon enough.
Guess we'll see in the next days to weeks.
Been saying all along that this scenario wouldn't totally surprise me.
But ideally they find middle ground where we get something and he plays somewhere decent.
fwiw, Every other team message board I've read has the vast majority of fans assuming he won't make through half a season or less. They, on average, will be pretty furious if they acquire Tony. Anyone interested, just go out there and see what's being said on Broncos or Texans (or even far-fetched Washington) message boards.
I actually think he could have a couple of very good years left in him.
Best situation I think would be a midround pick and maybe a player and get him to Houston where he restructures his contract for them. That would be a win for everyone I think. I don't think it'll happen but I think it'd be a win for everyone
I wouldn't make any financial wager on that.I think by this time tomorrow, Romo will be released.
