People will take this for granted but I think Joe D. will have a good impact on Rossum, and 33 years old isn't that bad honestly... Good signing in my book.
 
Crayton doesn’t have a history of fumbles...so a strange move imo.

In a league in need of explosive return people, why is he on the market?

Blah, why take up the roster space?

I don't even care if takes it to the house. I just want a punt returner that doesn't start our offense inside our 20 all the time and then the offense has to sustain long drives.
 
His age doesn't matter.

It would be nice to have a 15-20 yard return every once in awhile.

I hope he is capable of that.

Maybe San Fran's special teams is not all that good. He could thrive with our special teams.

He's no Devin Hester, but he's no Patrick Crayton too.
 
From when he was released last week:

Rossum was coming off one of his best seasons in 2008, having set career highs of 26.8 yards per kickoff return and 14.9 per punt return. The kickoff average ranked third in the NFC while the punt mark was second best in the NFL.

"I think teams have to approach our return game differently when I'm on the field," Rossum said. "These last two weeks before every game they've been shocked that I'm not up. I know I'm doing something good when those teams approach me and say, 'Hey, man, we've been preparing for you all week.' I'm not worried about it."

Good find, Alex... So it wasn't just 10 years ago that he was any good. A fifteen yard average on punts is excellent.

Wonder why the dropoff this year?

If he can still play we know coach D will have him in a position to succeed.
