Schoonmaker Making Key Blocks

We have a number of TE’s and he’ll never overtake Ferguson who continues to improve every week. We traded TE Anthony Fasano after two seasons who was a second round pick. We traded him and another player for a fourth round pick. If they don’t like what they’re seeing with Schoonmaker I could see us trying to trade him rather than allowing him to play out his contract and letting him walk. I’m not saying we’re going to trade him but it’s a possibility.

That kind of trade is what i'm afraid of. I think Ferguson has the best chance to emerge as the #1 and maintain that position but schoon could be a decent #2 guy/backup who is just used a bit more to block than Ferg.

Ferguson has already emerged as the #1. We’ll have to see how it plays out with Schoonmaker. He’s off to a worse start than any of the TE’s we drafted in the second round.
