Washington is supposed to have knee issues.
and Schoon was supposed to be healthy.
MM was sold on it and banking on it.
Its a chance for Ferg and Henders to fill that scheme role now is all.
Only difference is making substitutions to do it, and why the pick of Schoon with the 2.
Versatility at every position equates directly to less substitutions.
Schoon has the ability to fit that role, it's just highly unfortunate, needed him implementing into the game plan this season.

Can you elaborate?
In this case the predraft prep has them training for 40 yard dash, shuttle, and 3 cone drill. This follows the previous year of training into practice into games for the NCAA. Normally this time would be spent in rest and recovery. He has had no rest of recovery since his college career ended.

The would be overtraining particularly relative to his normal experience.

Plantar fasciitis in athletes is often the result of overtraining.

This isn't unexpected. Use the roster spot to try someone else as Schoon continues his recovery.
Princeton Fant ?

Yeh Schoon being out and slowed by the foot injury really sux, becuz camp and preseason is the perfect time for development
for a rookie trying to adapt and adjust to the NFL.

A knee jerk reaction but I am already lowing my expectations this rookie for Schoon early on, ..maybe more at season's end as a 3rd or even 4th TE ?
I really did want to see his speed and receiving skills this summer.

Well, Jake Ferguson better be good this season. I saw every snap he played at Wisconsin and I was never impressed. Perhaps he magically becomes great.

I mean, with Jake and Hendershot, what could possibly go wrong?

I'm in shock.

That's because I predicted this a month ago and I am never right.

As soon as the reports mentioned that he would be ready for training camp, I figured that we probably wouldn't see him on the field this season. ......because Jerry lies.

I saw a video of Schoonmaker and Lewis working out on the side. Schoonmaker looks ok and does not have any special shoes. I bet he could be activated next week.

This is terrible news, but he isn't a small schooled prospect like Tolbert was, he was playing in a pro type of offense, where he can transition quicker on the next level.

They were a Super Bowl contender last year and are a contender right now. They also made some excellent 2nd round picks in Diggs and Williams. Schoonmaker could also be another one. We will have to see what happens with that one.
:laugh:where did you get the idea Williams was an excellent pick? He hasn’t done anything yet.

Zach Gentry is the top guy for Michigan TEs in the NFL right now. He has 39 total catches in 4 years for the Steelers.

That "Pro Type offense" at Michigan isn't churning out many highly impactful TEs in the NFL.

Would have loved to seen them get aggressive and move up to the top of the 2nd and drafting LaPorta as he was their number one TE. Far too often this FO is reactive instead of being proactive

Yup. Way too early to call him an excellent pick. Or a bust. Just way too early.

This reminds me of those fans who proclaim a draft as our best draft ever. Pretty much every year.

Then how come every pre-draft prospect doesn't get plantar fasciitis?

I know it.
You know how those posters PO you what predict failure for a player before it plays out? You're doing the same thing. It's annoying whether it's positive or negative.
