Twitter: Schottenheimer on Jaydon Blue playing

Wow, that's a name I haven't heard since that Cowboys site closed down.
Funny I can remember us being on here I think and someone saying this "I'm heading over to Pats!" lol lol (my memory isn't good at all bro, somehow I remember this!! lol

Triggered…..When someone responds with a dissertation usually means we found one of culprits
:huh:I think it's funny that people can make an assumption that someone's triggered, apparently you don't know me very well, all my posts are long rambles rants whatever you want to call them, I use talk to text they run on sentences, but no,

I'm not triggered..

i'm stating a fact ,

those are facts those are not carrying any kind of tone or hate and I don't know how you hear that through writing but apparently you guys like to jump to conclusions so I'd say that whatever I said must have triggered you....

But I didn't know we were In search of a culprit, hmm did I miss the vote in here about grabbing all our pitchforks and torches and getting a big crowd together to persecute somebody, that somebody do something wrong ,did they have a differing opinion of you ,and now you're going to label me as a culprit ,for what exactly??

For having an opinion on a player that right now has to be defended because he's not doing so well That's kind of odd I find that really weird.

Thanks for making the place weird, because some of you all think this some kind of contest in here, that there has to be one side or the other ,

no, I stated that most of the draft responses on this particular player ,We're not labeling him some superstar, some can't miss starter, but they stated facts and I'm saying that I wasn't one of those, I know the we were talking about that know him well that posted his highlight reels, that watched him closely in college, knows he can play football, and whatever's holding him back it's probably going to get resolved, eventually,

because we've seen this with other players like Rico and now Davis is finally getting a chance three years later these guys took three years to even find consistent snaps on the field and it's not even as a starter....

I Saw Miles Austin take three years doing almost nothing on this team to blowing up for a 1200 yard ten touchdown season Yup in his fourth year this is why people need to just stop you're already convicting this kids a rookie the season's not even over and you've labeled him a bust you're the culprit you people think that guys like him should be cut immediately this is not even a Deuce volunteer situation he's a very talented back with a lot of speed he has an NFL body and if he can get it right in the meetings in that practice he will find his way to doing some good things what just a backup is just fine with me a change of pace guy...

. See how I'm posting facts on why people need to slow down and tap the brakes on labeling this kid,

like it's over he should have never been drafted blah blah blah you guys are insufferable..

I mean we just see it sometimes you guys talk about players like this we can talk about all the head scratching going on right now, with you talking about Nashawn Wright, Oh my God had we let this kid get away you know why, because people like you talk the same way about him and now he finally found his way to doing some good things in NFL,

it just took the long road...

This is what happens when fans jump to conclusions all we said the group I was with that was defending the pick and thought this kid was built like Jameer Gibbs same height same weight same speed he has potential and apparently he's behind in something that's nothing to do with football has something to do with being professional whether it's immaturity or not he won't be the only player that has to find his way back...

Somehow making factual statements,

it triggered you..

Don't cry into your coffee, it waters it down..:popcorn:

You know, I start to think drafting Blue was a mistake but then I think back to Ryan Flournoy in his rookie year. He flashed. He did the right things and yet he sat behind Tolbert. In August, they actually waived Flournoy and were lucky to get him back on the practice squad. Finally, someone decided to play him and the has 2 100 yard games. Dak trusts him and at times depends on him. What do you know?

Maybe Blue is immature. Maybe he stinks. Or, maybe he has home run speed and just needs reps to get in a groove. If he doesn't play these next 3 weeks then it would be malpractice. The same goes for Mingo, Mafah, and even Cornelius. These games don't matter. What better time to see when some of these players have than the next 3 weeks. I'd bring Justin Barron up off the practice squad to play some LB and see what he has. The worst that can happen is Dallas gets a higher draft pick.

I said this in another thread, but this kid has a long leash on this board as a Cowboy just because he was a Longhorn. Many on the board would have lobbied to cut him by now if he played at some other average school. But there is a contingent of Dallas/Longhorn fans that will stump to give this kid every chance in the world.

These are the type of guys that were over the moon that we traded a fortune for Roy Williams the dud, posted on here how badly we needed Isaiah Bond and said we should have drafted Matthew Golden over Booker....

This Blue kid may end up being something he may not. A total guess but from what I've read and the info we've seen I'm thinking he's an absolute bone head. He's a 5th rd bottom of the roster kid at a position many draft picks excel at right from the start of camp. He needs to be humble, know the playbook cold and work harder than the starters to get a chance.

He's got 22 carries, has fumbled already, and apparently he is wowing absolutely no one in practice. I like that Schotty isn't just playing him to play him. Make the kid earn his playing time and I hope the whole roster is watching it play out and learning something. Use this kid as an example. I don't hate the kid or the pick, I really hope he earns some time as I'd like to see what he's got the rest of the way. We'll see if he can earn it through hard work and the right attitude.

He's got that smooth brain; he's never playing here. They'd bring back that midget before they let this guy play. :D

I would imagine that at this point in the season, with really nothing on the line, whatever issues coach has with Blue it’s not on the field related.

If he’s a try-hard at practice and has the right attitude you’d want a looksy at what he can do with the understanding that his developing game may have a couple shortcomings. And, you’d want to really see what they are in a game situation.

Can’t help but wonder if something’s going on behind the curtain with Blue.

Yeah, no. All of Blue's pass protection this season has actually been solid. Definitely much better than Javonte Williams. The one who you are badly describing with poor pass protection is actually Javonte Williams, not Jaydon Blue. Go rewatch their tapes. The film doesn't lie.
This could be the case. There isn't much tape to watch, but I will take a peek.

If he is capable of blocking at an NFL level, and he is more talented than the current runners, but can't find the field, then I would immediately cut him

You are suggesting that his issue is non-football related and players who are on the short bus of life are going to be a more difficult challenge.

On a team that is now out of the playoffs, not scripting him into a handful of plays would be a serious 5 alarm fire for me. A young talented player should not be held off the field if he can meet the NFL standard.

I Saw Miles Austin take three years doing almost nothing on this team to blowing up for a 1200 yard ten touchdown season Yup in his fourth year this is why people need to just stop you're already convicting this kids a rookie the season's not even over and you've labeled him a bust you're the culprit you people think that guys like him should be cut immediately
I wouldn't use Miles Austin as an example.

Miles was a special teams demon and made big plays tackling and covering kickoffs and punts.

He found the field right away as a rookie and had almost 800 yards on kickoff returns. In the 07 playoff game against the Seahawks he took a kickoff 93 yards to the house.

There was obvious physical talent to the kid, and he fought his way onto the roster as a UDFA.

Jaydon Blue is no where even close to Austin in accomplishment and certainly not what we have seen as evidence in character.

I don't think anyone hates the kid.

But with the challenges the RB room is having right now what is happening to this kid makes no sense.

It's like none of the offensive coaches, Derrick Foster or Klayton Adams nor Schottenheimer will vouch for the kid and give him the field.

This isn't how talented young RBs work in today's NFL. This is considered the easiest position on the roster to gain the field other than PK, punter and LS.

It's weird.

I'll use whoever I want as an example,

sometimes it takes players longer, we already have a special teams ace, I hate to break it to you but they weren't going to allow Blue to take over for Turpin, but maybe they should have gave a shot ,that's a coaching issue, Whatever doghouse he's in he's in not because of his talent, I don't want to hear obvious it took three years before he did anything relative for the Cowboys ,that was my point and I'm still sticking to it...

Literally listed many examples and there are many more but I'm gonna go with cowboys who took longer than they should have but eventually made it and did something and we've only given this rookie 14 games and somehow we've already written him off and it's stupid really really stupid..

so why don't you not tell me what example I should use...

Really what did Miles Austin do before he came to the Cowboys? He took three years that's my point it takes players some time to get it and I used many examples not just Miles but Miles is an example,, because he didn't do anything, until Year 4..

Right, here special teams beast, and blah blah blah he's a receiver what do you do as a receiver until Year 4?

There are people giving up on Blue 14 games into his rookie season is my point, if you don't get it ,don't reply, I don't care ,that's my point, that is my opinion..

Well, I do appreciate this bit of "discipline". Too bad Schotty can only do this with a 5th round pick. Were this Lamb or Pickens or any "pet" player...Blue is on the field due to Jerry.

Hilarious apparently you don't even read what I wrote apparently you don't comprehend I literally said it took Rico and Davis three years apiece before they even got their real opportunities here I don't want to hear about injuries and any excuses because Blues not getting excuses You're saying it's the easiest to see the field they're not seeing the field these two running backs and now we have a guy at a practice draft in Israel hardly saw the field So what you're saying is untrue..

Even now in Year 4 whatever Davis is in he got rag dolled as a pass blocker in the last game I don't know if you watched he's not that good at it so that's not it either he's in the doghouse because of something to do with practice habits being late to meetings whatever it is he's got under the skin of the coaches and that's the only reason he hasn't seen the field and it's not unusual and it's not weird your posts are weird...

LOL....a polite gentlemany discussion. Let's just escalate eveything to insults and condescending idiocy.

Get this trash out of here.

Never waste time with losers.

Honestly, there is something wrong with you. It is an opinion board and you are losing any sense of reality.

I didnt' attack you. I said very clearly. " I wouldn't use Miles Austin as an example."

How you went from there to a post I made in response to js66 where I felt it was "weird" how he isn't seeing the field.

Do you have a problem with people's participation in a public board? Is this how you go about treating people who are total strangers to you?

I certainly wasn't targeting you, but only responding to what you posted. ??? Then you all caps me as if I don't have a right to respond to something you post on a public website. ???

Are expecting to be right and I'm wrong? As you stated correctly it is an opinion, but it is also a public opinion board with hundreds of members and point of this site is to encourage discourse aroudn the Cowboys.

LOL....a polite gentlemany discussion. Let's just escalate eveything to insults and condescending idiocy.
I would prefer it not to land in the area of idiotcy, but this is a public opinion board, and treating people with general decency in public discourse should be the norm.

Last I saw this was just a site for opinions. Why people would be so defensive or equate their character to their opinions is beyond me.

There is a high likelihood that 90% of what I am saying may be wrong, but I can live with that and enjoy the opportunity to have others present their views on this without making it personal.

Public discourse.
