Schottenheimer on practice; the SB drought; Diggs, Parsons

Politics may be Schotts true calling.
I hope it's not empty promises from a Cowboys HC yet again.
The speeches are as if scripted out of a best of all worlds movie yet to be shown.

I just hope this year's movie version ain't the same as all the rest have been for 3 decades now.

Cowboys!

Just take it for what he is saying, looking forward of what is possible.

This is one of those ‘what’s he supposed to say?’ moments.

He isn’t intolerable at the podium like Garrett, and just because he wasn’t a great coordinator doesn’t mean he can’t lead a team well.

He is a typical Jerry hire, but his biggest obstacle is Jerry himself…..the constant undermining, meddling…but most of all…not giving him enough good players and leaving gaping holes in the run defense.

What no one seems to want to mention is that McCarthy apparently couldn’t get of there fast enough. Must have been a great place to work.

In the end the new HC appears to have the same ‘I’m just happy to have a HC job’ mentality as the last one. Let’s see how enthusiastic he is by year three.

He is a breath of fresh air. I love what he is doing.

A great leader is someone who is authentic to themselves. Lets hope the boys run through a way for him especially since he is making sure everyone is on a personable level with each other in that locker room.

Or year 2 even.
But great post anyway.

Who cares what the latest spineless puppet has to say, he’s there to collect his pay check, say the right things (according to Jerry and his pea-brained son) and get fired in a few years.

I'm thinking he's relieved that Jerry's only expectation is that the team stay relevant and interesting. It keeps the stress levels a bit lower knowing your boss is fine with that bar being so low that an ant hill is higher.

I don’t get caught up in (the Cowboys’ Super Bowl) drought. This is one year. This is the first year of mine. When the season’s over, we move on. We do. You move on, 2024 is over, now it’s 2025. Are we gonna win the Super Bowl this year? I hope. I think we are. If we don’t, you move on.

I’m not wired that way because I’m competing every day to try to win a Super Bowl. If I’m looking back and worrying about that, I’m not focused on what really matters, which is making sure we have an incredible practice today.

He should strive harder not talking about it publicly. There will never be any right answer or insight to give the public.

If he is building culture founded upon focus and results, it would be best not getting caught up in what ifs conversations. The best teams are filled with players who follow their coach's example.

Let the Joneses handle the fluff sessions. It is what they do best and no one will (or could) stop them from craving media attention anyway.

This is so wrong headed.

How many people do you know that achieve this level of accomplishment (1of 32 in the world) just cruise along and mail it in without trying

Doesn't that description remind you of someone else?

Any bloke as a walk-on (OK, UDFA) on his first day would be celebrated by Schotty as having a great attitude, a work ethic and a team player who helps his mates.
It is not known if he has offered even a mild rebuke to ANY player in his life.
Schotty is a friend to all his paint ballers.
So, this season, take any superficial praise of his players with a grain of salt.
Or just consider him the anti-Jimmy.
