Schottenheimer press conference chatter

My take aways.
1. Jerry is completely washed. He is in the twilight of his life and when people get there they can only talk about the past and what happened back then and the same old stories.
2. Stephen is more well presented than I thought and more in command than I even thought.
3. Brian is well spoken and thoughtful.
4. We don't have a chance to win with this group because Brain is a lap dog.

It's today. Use this thread for all the compliments.

I personally am stoked and I haven't even heard their great reasoning for going in this direction yet.

And completely ignore that the team's official X account used a reverse image sporting a backwards D cap.

The backwards D represents..."We are running it back" ....Because we like our guys....And we are all in.

Can't wait for 2025....

again your saying you believe Jerry and your the honest one?
You can see that the coach is going to give everything he has and the players are behind him. Also the draft sets up well to draft a dominant runner and add a 2nd back as well.

They do have to sign some free agents to fill up the roster.
We did last year too. 11 of them for a whopping $18.8 million. Was great, definitely worth it, could easily see the results. Would repeat.

All I wanna know is what the new cool slogan will be and that they are all in for sure. Also that the here we go cadance is done!

That was quite a performance on the part of those three guys on the stage. I mean that sincerely, and without any cynicism whatsoever.

I have to say, I didn't see one smile among the three of them for about the first minute or two they were up there, before the mics came on, but then something Schotty said to Stephen obviously broke some of the ice/stress, and suddenly the aura up there began turning from gray to sunshine.

I am damn positive that I'm in the minority on this. I'm also damn positive that the Eeyores will decry me as a dupe. But I feel better now about this situation than I think I could have if McCarthy were still the coach--which I considered to be, really, the only even-barely decent option. (Mind you, I'm not one for hotshot young coaches ascending to top dog as a rule, so I do bring that bias and would have been super skeptical had Ben Johnson somehow landed here after all.)

I see a vision I didn't see before. I'm really, really okay with this hire now, and I hadn't been that.

Optimistic? Not there, but mainly not there because I'm just so persuaded this first season will be, no matter the new head coach's effectiveness, the Season of Famine.

But for 2026? There's some hope, yes.

You will be wrong once again ........ then next off-season claim, "Jerry is gonna really do it this time"

How can I be wrong? They have to sign players to fill out the roster. They aren't going to have 15 rookies. The draft also sets up well to draft a dominant back.

Amazing how they do not want to understand this.

Jerry never answered when asked why Mike left. Went on some tangent that made no sense to the questions that were asked
