You havent answered me multiple times when I asked you and your vast experience in coaching what this team is going to do when Schott runs inside zone runs against 3 of the top front 7s in football.

the only person not smart in here is you for lapping up this nonsense like its your first time having wet food.
The running game should be improved with a top back or backs taken in the draft.

Hey Jerry, What do you think about weather today.

Jerry: Well I'll tell you something if I had worried about the weather as much as you, I wouldn't be sitting her today as the owner of the Cowboys.

"30 years ago when I just bought the team, there was no such thing as weather. It just rained or it didn't"

Fan morale is at all time low. And Jerry decided to spend 25 minutes filibustering about how great he has been. Stephen air quoting a 29 year drought from the NFC championship. They really don't care. They despise fans and their stupid 'opinions'.

Not only did they do nothing to sell this decision, they made it worse!

They had all weekend (plus two weeks after the season) to come up with 'here's our 4 year plan under Schottenheimer to do XYZ better' and they couldn't do it. Because there is no plan. There never was. Never will be. No free agency, only money management. No scheme improvements, only terminology changes. No personnel changes, only continuity.
That's because you are talking about two people in the Joneses who do not have a football philosophy. They couldn't tell you the process behind team building and what goes into it. They couldn't tell you what they look for in players in terms of traits and mental approach. They couldn't tell you about what schemes work in modern football. You could have had the head janitor and cafeteria supervisor up there giving better answers to the questions.

It's so clear. They don't have the first idea what they're doing. Even at the things they think they're doing well! Jerry knows when the bank account is full. Wow! Go Cowboys!

We will see in March and April and then in August and September.

My takeaway - Schottenheimer seems to be a genuinely nice man who is earnest and positive. But, there may not be a worse place to be a first time head coach, given the spotlight and the two empty suits who surrounded him on the dais. Schottenheimer is the kind of person who you would want to root for, and would probably be a good person to hang out with. However, he has not been especially successful or creative in his prior haunts as a coordinator, and does not seem to have the personality that would allow him to put the Joneses in their place.

Classic hope for the best, but expect the worst with this.

I do hope that Schotty ends up being good. He certainly has paid his dues. I'm curious to see how he does. Question is, how much help will Jerry give him?

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
I can spot an Eagles fan a mile away.

If you're such a Cowboys fan why couldn't you support them 39 years ago?
I was hoping you originally meant just not a p-ing match about it ("negativity").

But you've shown it mean neither.

(I know...your spirits are SKY HIGH today...a brand new era in Dallas Cowboys Football...and you're just yanking chain for jokes!)
