As long as it’s not Zeke, I’m willing to buy a more run heavy offense. If Zeke is still getting half the carries, I’m done with this team.

If they bring back Zeke in any other capacity other than to play fullback then I can’t take this team serious.
I don't know how they can bring him back.

It is obvious to defences that when he is in the game he is there in a defensive and risk mitigation role. (Protect the QB and get us the tough short yards.)

He will never threaten the defences so they will double stack and triple stack the box. A guy like Zeke makes the defences lick their chops and also take a sigh of relief.

It was Pollard who scared them out of the backfield.

Until he finds more wiggle and more footspeed Zeke shouldn't be in a Cowboys uniform. A FB would be a waste.

"No Screen" Zeke showed up in the playoffs while Davis was warming up the bench w his 10 yard per catch averages. Urgh

The minute Pollard went down the world could see who was the straw that stirs the drink on our RB core lol

Zeke is just a 3rd RB in a committee at best

Here's what I'm eagerly awaiting to see in Dallas:
A staff that solidifies the RB roster, top to bottom. Have practice squad RBs that can run hard a couple of games or more.
Stop running every 1st, seems like it's been a lot.
More motion & play-action, not so much shotgun, empty backfield.
If you have an aging RB like Zeke, don't wait until year 4 to let Pollard get more touches. Freaking idiots.
The no. 3 RB should stand out a little more.
Get the O line 5 starters and hopefully it's not musical chairs.

But to me, the run game is the weakest link. We weren't consistent all season. We shouldn't be one dimensional just because ONE playmaker went out.
We had a really good back on our PS with Shampklin, but he went to the Colts after recovering from his injury. Then we have Ollison, who I think we should have played after Pollard got hurt at San Fran... But he wasn't activated.

You know when you have an elite QB and you know when you don’t.

Dak should never have got paid.
We haven't had one since the 90s. That doesn't excuse the Jones boys from the 28 years of failure.

Other teams have won without one. If the Eagirls win the SB next week, they would have done it twice.

They didn't trust Davis to block on pass plays...

R. Wilson was not declining in any of those seasons. The decline began in 21
Disagree.

And it wasn't so much of a decline, as he lost the real force on that team, Marshawn Lynch. And the D. Wilson was just along for the ride.

I haven’t seen anyone credible suggest run heavy and even if they have , I won’t believe it until I see it. MM doesn’t run the ball
I think run percentage will be similar to this year

Especially that one! I always hated it when KM so frequently called for empty backfield plays in the red zone. I'm with you, they need more play-action and less empty backfields, especially in the red zone.

I am going to be incredibly generous and say Schottenheimer body of work is at best mediocre.

I think it’s pointing to making things easier for receivers and QB post snap. I also think we will generally see:
  • Less option routes
  • Less curls
  • More pick plays and hitting receivers in stride
  • More play action
  • More inside zone running
  • More RB screen passes

Lynch was so critical.
Absolutely. As was that awesome DLine. Team started going downhill when Lynch got old and they let DLiners go to pay Earl and Richard.

Wilson never was the critical factor.
