Maybe because they don’t use free agency. No head coach wants to add to add the players they need.Serious question: Why would any talented, respected HC or even rising star assistant want to come to Dallas and work for Jerry and Stephen? Who not only interfere but are also known to be cheap with their HCs?
Seriously why would Mike Tomlin or Sean McDonough want to be here?
Akoye, that you?I watched the all-22 for three hours. Schottenheimer absolutely mailed it in Thursday night. Far too many vertical routes with nothing underneath for Prescott to throw. The same bloody nonsense we saw with Kellen Moore and Jason Garrett. Just run to the sticks...turnaround and beat your man on a jump ball.
He ran only five times behind Guyton and Smith. Too much shotgun-no back telegraphing to the defense that pass was on the way. I like Schottenheimer much less now than I did before this all-22 breakdown. He is going to go down as yet another HC and/or OC that abuses and misuses the high level of talent at his disposal.
The Dallas Cowboys were a feast or famine offense Thursday night and it was entirely self-inflicted. ENTIRELY! And it has nothing at all to do with the dmn talent level. It's the play-caller and his game-planning.
The three back-breaking plays came down to two players. Winters fell, leaving his gap exposed on the big Bucky run. Bland...bailed like an imbecile on a third and 21 play, THEN fell on that same play. On the long pass play? Bland again...jumping inside when he should've maintained outside leverage and again fell. Then...Bland yet AGAIN failing to catch an INT that was right in his hands. TWO tipped balls for INTs...one over the middle on a stupid route concept (Schottenheimer). The other because Ferguson simply can't stop doing dumb things...whether it's fumbling, tipping balls into the air, or not chipping properly.
Schottenheimer is a bigger concern after watching this all-22 than Parker. Parker has excuses with injuries. Schottenheimer does not. He is misusing offensive talent...much like those before him who have done it since Wade Phillips.
If Kyle Shanahan ran this offense it would be lethal.
Yep. It won't be Marty's boy. It'll be a 2nd-tier assistant like a LB or TE coach. If they lose the next two then come home and lose to the cardinals in Dallas. Someone will be fired.
Tom Landry has a son. Seems like a good guy, but I don't think he's into football. Belichick has a bummy son around somewhere. Even Bill Parcels has kids. Maybe Suzy, Dallas, or Jill can coach the team. All girls, but I doubt they're much worse than what we currently have embarrassing us.Dang, why can't we find some other old coach's son to be the head coach? Dang, we already tried that. Are there any little George Allens running around? Bud Grant Jrs?Rod Marinelli's running around?![]()
The center of the field was there offensively all night. I kept expecting Dallas to attack it, but never did.I watched the all-22 for three hours. I was watching on prime vision of course. I get to see all players. I was wondering about this too. What were they doing? Some of the play calling had me miffed. The center of the field was there offensively all night. I kept expecting Dallas to attack it, but never did.
Big ones? He can even win against a 0-4 bucs with an undrafted qb…Marty Schottenheimer is like Dak. He could never win the big ones. Neither will Junior.
Tampa played a lot of single safety shaded to one side. Digs and slants were there for the taking, especially when the LB didn't drop back. But it was too much vertical and out routes. That really only changed on the 99-yard drive. It also would've helped if they had a TE that good actually get separation. Ferguson isn't it; he's a post-up player with bad hands. The center of the field was there offensively all night. I kept expecting Dallas to attack it, but never did.
Typically I would agree with you...but Father Time is passing Jerry by and all these trades and FA moves and win now mentality IMO...is about his age and wants a Superbowl before he passes...the Dude is 84 and not getting any younger and you cant take the money with you...spend it now..... spend it on a Proven HC....Sean McDermott IMO is the most likely available candidate that could come in this year if needed be.... If Shotty is fired mid-season I would also go get Wink Martindale to be the DC until the new HC picks his peopleSerious question: Why would any talented, respected HC or even rising star assistant want to come to Dallas and work for Jerry and Stephen? No but it would make me and whole bunch of Fans happier.... and give us hopeI'm not entirely sure why this keeps coming up. He isn't getting fired. Period.
Maybe he gets his walking papers on Black Monday. But it won't happen until then, if it does.
Jerry thinks this is a playoff team and why would you fire your HC under that circumstance?
Firing Schotty now won't help or improve anything.
I wish you are right. But Jerry's ego trumps money. He said the time with Bill was the least fun he had since buying the team and wouldn't do that again.Typically I would agree with you...but Father Time is passing Jerry by and all these trades and FA moves and win now mentality IMO...is about his age and wants a Superbowl before he passes...the Dude is 84 and not getting any younger and you cant take the money with you...spend it now..... spend it on a Proven HC....Sean McDermott IMO is the most likely available candidate the could come in this year if needed be.... “At the end of the day..”Totally agree! I think Schottenheimers time has come to an end. He keeps repeating the same exact message after every loss. The fact no changes happen after losses has to be wearing thin in that locker.
"You know" "you know".“At the end of the day..”
