By the time Witten is ready, Jerry will be a walking potato if he is still around. I guess he doesn’t want to make a last splash before going out.

Schotty is the perfect candidate, unfortunately. A comfort hire for Dak who won't make him change or re-learn anything he's been doing. A coach who will work cheap for Jerry, and won't say no to a Jason Witten succession plan. This makes too much sense.

RELAX.
The media knows nothing. They have time to fill and babble about things. They need to make tweets and reports to justify their existence.

this thought crossed my mind too. BUT if this ever was the case, then you trade Micah.
I'd probably look to see how the new deal is structured - if there is an out in 3-4 years, then you know this might be the case.
Jerry still wants "star" players he can sell to the fans - Parsons, Diggs, Dak, CD

We have to keep in mind that the media will try to get as much mileage out of this as possible.
While it does not mean they are wrong it very well could be a lot of folks jumping on smoke to drive the narrative.

Brian Schottenheimer has a ton of experience as an OC and many years working with QBs in general after being one.
He's not an insane option and he is obviously available right now.
But Jerry typically likes shiny hires and this would be the opposite. This would be an in-house hire who wasn't even really the OC and Mike called the plays.

I don't hate Brian Schottenheimer, but I do hate what this hire would represent....
ditto......the manner in which this process is occurring is irritating, but not surprising. This franchise's value (Maybach value) is operating at the junkyard grabbing Pinto parts instead of going to the dealership. It makes no sense.

Will it matter? Jerry does not care.
If the fanbase would unite and stop lining Jerry’s pockets he would care.

Stop buying merch, going to games, watching games, listening to radio stations talking about the games, and ignoring them all together.

That’s what would hurt him the most.

The level of toxicity in this situation cannot be overstated.

Does the rest of the staff cater to the HC or the HC in waiting who could be their future boss?

How do you attract quality assistant coaches to Dallas for a brief 2-3 year stay?

What message does this send to players knowing their HC is a temporary puppet?

And at the end of the day, who is to say Witten is worth all of this? What if he's another Garrett?

There really needs to be an organized boycott of this family starting now. We are in unprecedented territory, fanbase needs to fight back.

If Jerry wants to waste another year of his remaining life closing his eyes and throwing a dart hoping to land anywhere near the dart board, then by all means.
Jerry Jones has been doing just that, essentially since he and Jimmy Johnson parted ways. Why would he change now, lol? This is who he is.
