Schotty's offense will be different that MM. It will be more run based with more play action

Thought Dak didn’t prefer laying under center ? Wasn’t the plan to create something Dak is comfortable with ?
The plan should be playing something the Defense is not comfortable with defending.

If you have a solid OLine you should be able to run any and all formations, which makes it more difficult on the defense.

nate dizzle......he talked about media scouts....I'm talking about play-action regarding what media scouts "declare".............who is media scouts and who is a moderator now does not dispel play action ain't gonna work if it's not respected?
It was scouts saying Dak is not good at turning his back, or taking his eyes away from the LOS and then having to process what was happening when he looked downfield again. You're talking about needing a threat of a legitimate running game to be successful, which i agree with. Those 2 things are 2 separate things. That's all I was saying.

With their track record. This is a good bet.
Oh not in my opinion there's so many of them in this draft they will take one before the third round but come on people do we have to be this what dramatic all the time I know that Joneses don't check the boxes and everyone hates them now but here's the deal the Dallas Cowboys under Jerry Jones have always had one of the top running backs in the NFL they've always had a big name even some of the ones that were considered second tier like Marion Barber Julius Jones that kind of thing they always had some of the top guys that's why their top three running backs of all time including Ezekiel Elliott but DeMarco Murray one of the top producing backs when he was with the Cowboys I mean he had one of the best years ever by Dallas Cowboys there's only been two years where they didn't address running back it was in 2015 they tried running back by committee and although it was OK without a quarterback it was hard to tell what was what and then last year or I should say 2024 season..

And I blame Mike McCarthy for this that's what we're discussing right the difference between what might come from Brian schottenheimer versus Mike McCarthy here's the thing just get a running back and stick to the run game and commit we saw Rico look a lot better the second-half of the season and he did the first a lot of that had to do with the offensive line not getting the best five and not choosing your running back it's OK to have running back by committee but everyone saw some of it in 2023 I thought Rico did a better job with the traditional running back role than Tony Pollard and he should have been given more carries but that's my opinion but then we saw at the Pittsburgh game at the very latest the Pittsburgh game was assigned to Mike McCarthy to give Rico 20 carries or more every game and he didn't stick to it once he stuck to it we ended up having a lot better run game than we thought as a fan base..

So people criticizing the run game and blaming Jerry they might want to start with blaming Jerry for keeping Mike McCarthy in 2024 because I think the mess was created by him he doesn't trust training camp he doesn't trust practice he doesn't even trust when you see it in a game enough to where he can make a decision and stick to it we saw it the first half of both the two years he was the OC here he it took too long to open up the playbook to get creative to find a hot guy and stick with him to me I blame a lot of this on McCarthy and maybe that will be the biggest difference between the two is at least coming into game one there'll be a plan and they do will do all they can to stick with it..

But saying Jerry has devalued the run game because he had one year where he didn't get a running back and he thought he can go running back by committee he also didn't think he was gonna have 18 injuries and have so many positions just not execute guys like Martin that was a shock on how bad he looked at times and that how a backup could play better but you need to decide a lot of this stuff by what your eyes are telling you and training camp and preseason that is on the head coach and the offensive coordinator and it was the same guy....

So I trust Jerry sees the error of his ways just like we picked Ezekiel Elliott and I don't want him to reach for a first round running back but I believe they will address it this year there's lots of history to show that normally Jerry gets his running back and he will do so in this draft it will be in the first 3 rounds but I believe it will be sooner than later..

I expect the RB position to be a major target in the upcoming draft, hopefully with Dowdle to be the #2 RB to be retained on the roster. If Dowdle is somehow allowed to go elsewhere, another capable #2 will have to be secured to take his place. A good RB should be had in the first 3 rounds.

And that right there is why I prefer the OC be the play-caller. Let the HC manage the overall game. Who is going to tell the HC/OC to do something different? I guess it would be Jerry here.
Jimmy Johnson is so much better than Norv Turner that its not even worth comparing the two.
Jimmy knew how to milk the clock, Norv did not.
Emmitt needed the ball, anyone that knows what a football is should realize that.

Moore isn't the HC there. He may have orders to lean on Barkley and not deviate.
I remember when Jimmy Johnson and Norv Turner were here.
Jimmy started a post game PC with the words: "I called up to Norv in the press box and told him I want to milk the clock in the 4th quarter drives. I want to see more Emmitt runs and less passes!"
Guessing maybe Nick Siaranni had a similar convo with Moore.
Way more likely is that offensive coordinators call plays that can be effective.Being able to run the ball ALWAYS makes passing the ball easier. Eagles are able to actually run the ball so Moore calls it. How many times would we call the run and either the OL got zero push or worse let a defender into the backfield. Even McCarthy would complained about scoring too quickly, if that can actually be a complaint, had to resort to a lot of screen calls and the short passing game because our running game was so bad.

Give me Jeanty and Ollie Gordon and you’d have the best RB combo in the league. All predicated on Gordon falling to the 5th.
Why does he have to fall to the 5th? We ae likely getting 4 comp pics so could trade up if we wanted. Two drafted RB's would be cheaper most likely than resigning Dowdle will be.
