Schotty's offense will be different that MM. It will be more run based with more play action

This is dumb. Kellen Moore is a bad pass happy coordinator and won’t run the ball. Oh wait, he gets Barkley and a real OL and now has a 2000 yard rusher.

We can talk about running the ball and play action all we want but as long as the OL can’t create push in the running game it’s just words.
Moore isn't the HC there. He may have orders to lean on Barkley and not deviate.
I remember when Jimmy Johnson and Norv Turner were here.
Jimmy started a post game PC with the words: "I called up to Norv in the press box and told him I want to milk the clock in the 4th quarter drives. I want to see more Emmitt runs and less passes!"
Guessing maybe Nick Siaranni had a similar convo with Moore.

Great. Now Dak just needs to learn to throw from under center with play action. There are reasons it wasn’t done much for 10 years.
Exactly this. Do the worry though, Dak assured us he's working hard on correcting his footwork...in year 10 is generally where the magic happens for all the best QBs to figure out how to drop back.

You can say you want to have more play-action all you want but without the talent up front and in the backfield it won’t matter. The team is lacking in those areas and I don’t trust Jerry to address them.

Play action does not work when you can't run the ball.

If we draft a top running back, our run game will be improved by osmosis, if you want to give the credit to BS, go ahead.

Run it back with our same RB's from last year and I would love to see how play action is going to work.
Yep.....poor scouting, poor player evaluation, and poor player development will rear their ugly heads again......with poor roster formulation. Jeanty & Hampton.....you will not be coming to Dallas.

Media scouts say he doesn’t like to turn his back to the defense and have to rediagnose what they’re doing.
I do not understand why you folks persist with these made up narratives on n your head. They were literally 5th in the league in play action in 2023, a season that was fairly successful for Dak passing-wise. He absolutely can thrive utilizing PA.

Yea we gonna try to draft Jeanty
Don't need to draft Jeanty.

Jaydon Blue (Texas) lately changed his mind and decided to go pro. Brashard Smith (SMU) is also in the mix. Either one can be had in the 3rd round, especially if the Cowboys trade down from #12 into the mid 20s while picking up either a late 2nd or 3rd & 5th round picks. Either trade would give them either an extra 2nd or 3rd round picks. Cowboys need to trade down because they lack early round picks due to Jerry's wasted 4th round picks during 2024 and 2023 seasons.

Same thing MIKE from Pittsburgh said, and you see how many time Dak and Rush threw the ball 30+ times a game!!

When Dowdle tapped his helmet to come out last year in came Zeke and run threat cut in half . Now Dowdle comes out in comes a back I assume drafted in one of the first three rounds , big difference .

Plus I hope Schott uses players like Leupke & Schoon more in the game plan .

I don't know if Schottenheimer will be a good coach or not.

What I do know is the Cowboys severely limited their HC search; did not interview any of the "hot" coaches; and selected someone that, it would seem, no one else considered HC material.

It just feels once again that Jones is grasping for an "I know better than you" vindication straw.

So, talk of a different offense is just that, "talk"

Any offense that relies more on the run and less on Dak, is an improvement to me. But Dak is making $60 million per year. Does it make sense to pay him that kind of money while he is handing the ball off?

Then again, Dak might excel in this kind of offense. If he doesn't feel he has to carry the team, he may actually play better.

But any notion of Dak using play action to throw bombs to CeeDee or some other receiver is a pipe dream. He has not shown that kind of deep ball accuracy lately, and frankly I worry about his arm strength these days.

Cool.
And I'm totally all for it.
Linehan's 2016 offense was one of my favorites.
Now they just need Guyton and Steele to play like Tyron Smith and Doug Free at tackle.
Need a legit complimentary WR2 for Lamb.
And a better than Rico talent at RB 1.
But last and most importantly, a home run hire at OL coach.

COWBOYS!
that's a tall order to ask for. no way steele and guyton will ever play as well as smith and free. also i wonder who the jones will hire as the oline coach. hopefully the coach will be better then the oline coach of the last two seasons.
