Dak missed a TE in that Tampa game that was more wide open than a Kardashian's legs at a Mandingo convention, was that Schultz?

Oh ok. I actually like our TEs. They're not Witten, but they're not trash either.

(Should read "#1" in the header.)

Looking at snap counts since the WAS game, he's getting on-average about 50%, then Jarwin's getting around 35%, and Rico's left with 15%.

For what it's worth.
Yea, he seems to be picking it up a bit the last few games........I love the way he and Gallup are coming into their own.

I believe, as always, folks on this site expect SO much from drafted players. It’s hard to argue at times bc of players like LVE, Martin, Fredrick, Dak, Zeke, that all have hit the field on fire. But people need to realize that’s a indication of how well the front office has drafted... it’s not the norm. Look around the league at other TE’s(1st seasons)that’s been drafted lately..
(1rd)OJ Howard, 34-565-5..
(1rd)Evan Engram 40-496-2..
(1rd)David Njoku 53-577-4..
(2nd)Gerald Everett 33-320-3..
(2nd)Mike Gesiki 21-181-0
(2nd)Dallas Goedert 30-307-4

Compared to Schultz who’s only played in 6 games in a 4 way timeshare at times..

(4th) Dalton Schultz 11-99-0
(Undrafted)Blake Jarwin 20-188-0

Schultz will get stronger and with a offseason to learn the playbook is invaluable. The more he plays with Dak, the better chemistry they are developing. I’d be surprised if Swaim is back next season, so Schultz will be a starter next season. And I’m not discounting the receiving ability of Jarwin, he seems like the perfect ‘James Hanna’ back up. Dallas needs to give up on the Rico Project and bring in a low cost blocking TE this offseason.

Side note: it’s an early prediction, but I personally believe Dallas will draft another OL with the second pick. That would be the best chance to find a plug-n-play starter with a late 2nd Rd pick imo.

Then again, there's also the FA route.

Any of these names get you aroused?

  • Jared Cook, Raiders
  • Benjamin Watson, Saints
  • Tyler Eifert, Bengals
  • Jeff Heuerman, Broncos
  • Maxx Williams, Ravens
  • C.J. Uzomah, Bengals
  • Jesse James, Steelers.

We aren't signing a FA TE. You can book that.

Not the game changing TW the NFL is going for, but he's serviceable.

There is no s as Cardinal refers to a color, not a bird. There cannot be multiple Cardinal as it is a single thing. They have that right grammatically.

They were known for a time as the “Cardinals,” but changed the name to the singular form back in the 80s.

Would be a good fit. Won't happen, but the dude has some skill.

I'll take Schultz over Gesicki. MG is softer than baby poop this year. He can improve his game but he has been such a non physical player his rookie year.

  • Tyler Eifert, Bengals

He is the Sean Lee of tight ends. Talented but health is never there for him.

I like Tyler Eifert, but he’ll make you mad when he’s unavailable to play. He’s a injury waiting to happen. He hasn’t played a full season since he’s been in the league. He is a TD machine tho.. but don’t expect him to block. That said, don’t expect that to happen. He’s inching closer to 30yo anyway.

I am pleased with this.

I have seen his blocking and it's doable .

His catching is a bonus.

Another starter from our draft.

Sweet

Even if Dallas drafts a TE, they will bring in a ‘low cost’ blocking TE during the offseason. You can book that.

What? Schultz, at 6'5" 260 with a track record of being a solid blocker.....no.

Missed that assignment on the Cooper sweep, though.

Swaim is TE1 and in his absence they are using less TEs.
Schultz is here to stay tho and could end up TE1 in the future.
But none of these TE have special skillsets.
