I'd be extremely happy if we could get either Crichton or Kareem Martin in the 2nd

Pet cat, for sure. I like this guy a lot.

Unfortunately, he's one of those guys that isn't highly rated enough for 16, but not low enough to make it to 2. Guys like Ford, Ward, Chricton, UCLA guard...some of my favourite players in this draft are those late first rounders.

My dream scenario ATM would be to trade down, grab Chricton, trade up in 2 and grab Ward. Two of my favourites who I expect to do really well in the NFL

I agree. Then why not try to trade back with our 1st pick and use the extra pick we get to trade up with our 2nd pick? I'd love to have two picks in the 30-40 range.

I really really wanted to like him,but the more I see and read about him, the less I think he would fit in with our defense. Good football player though.

Please explain why he wouldn't fit in this defense?

I like him, but don't love him. I watched 3 full games of him. He is a great bull rusher and possesses powerful hands. I agree that he is more fitted as a LDE but the problem is he is a liability against the run. Gets completely blown off the ball and lost in the run game.

Awful against options plays or running quarterbacks. Gets fooled easily. Lacks very little catch up speed chasing down plays and does not set the edge well.

Gets by strictly on his bull rush and excellent motor. Don't see a 1st round player by any means.. If he falls to second i would consider

I feel like the type of DE that fits best with the Tampa are the quickest, most explosive bursting DEs even if that is forsaking the run stop abilities of a DE. The most important role of the DE is penetrating and letting the DTs and LBs clean up, quite honestly a guy who does not have exceptional burst is not going to work, and Crichton is an effort guy with a good ability to use strength. I think Crichton would be better in a 3-4 because he is a guy who can see what is going on and react well. and he is good at being in the mix, but I don't see him as the disruptive type, not enough at least for us.

I don't think he would have a problem fitting in what Rod is doing on defense.

I don't disagree. I just don't love the player.. I wouldn't rate him as a 1st round player. To me, he is similar player to Trent Murphy. Excellent motor, hard working, smart player without excellent natural ability.

@BryanBroaddus: “@x71570: @BryanBroaddus thoughts on Barr at 16?” Sure. One of my favorite players.
