I'd surely lean towards going with those showing a combo of good talent and the highest probability of remaining healthy throughout the year.

I certainly hope that those in charge of making such decisions are aware of who those people are and retain those who best fit that capability.

Emmitt Smith only did that 3 times in his career. DMC did it with crap at QB and no Dez.

I see you like to use selective quoting. Whey didnt you use the entire quote? I guess it didnt suit your agenda.

4.6 yards per carry and 3 TD's behind the Cowboy line. Again, nothing impressive what so ever.

Too funny. Little angry man. Your and my opinion matter very little indeed. What matters is what the FO thinks. And quite clearly they agree with me.

No doubt they drafted Zeke at 4 and another rookie, plus signed Morris because they were sooo impressed with Mcfaddens year last year. :lmao2::lmao:

Normally an insult/personal attack like the above, @CowboyRoy, gets deleted or may even earn a benching. Your attack on me means little to me but I warn you not to push the envelope but mostly not to do that to other members.

When people resort to ad hominem attacks and emoticons they have run out of constructive debate.....if they ever had any to begin with.

Then your opinion has little value

This was your post to me just prior. Is that what you call civil debate?

Sure. That's not a personal attack but my opinion on your opinion which was ratified by some. If you are going to espouse hyperbole as fact or even as your opinion then expect people to point it out. Wasn't your comment after watching film on McFadden he was worthless? This is a guy who gained over 1000 yards without a passing attack on a dismal team's offense and he wasn't even the starter the first 5 or six games I believe. He had the 8th most number of rushing snaps and the 4th highest rushing yards in the NFL last year. When you make statements like that then don't be surprised people will eventually dismiss your opinion as worthless.

Back to the trifecta idea, there seems to be a different feel to the offseason free agents and draft philosophy than in previous years. With the terrible year that the passing game had and that Williams is in his final year, Streets is probably going to the curb and Dez still rehabbing, the FO in the past seems like they would have drafted and stockpiled WRs. Or at least been overtly reactionary.

But reading the tea leaves here, it seems like Dunbar was supposed to have kind of a pivotal role last year - maybe as a Marshall Faulk type WR/RB and the injury just ripped a pretty substantial sail down from the ships mast. Looking at the two areas that are stockpiled right now, the RB and the TE, maybe the plan is have more of that Tennessee Titan offense from 1999 where the TEs and the RBs methodically controlled the game and the downfield strikes were less desperate to how the offense functioned?

But back to Dunbar, maybe McFadden is being kept for that role. There have been a few articles about McFadden not fitting the zone running plays and he has tremendous straight line speed. So perhaps, the RBs are Morris and EzE, but McFadden splits out, the defense is going to lose the mismatch if they put a Safety or LB on him. In 2010, he had 500 receiving yards, he has caught 40+ passes twice in his career and there were two seasons where he was targeted 55 and 61 times. In 2010 his receiving skills alone accounted for 21 first downs. He catches 70% of his targets (I realize that he runs high percentage routes) but if you compare that Terrance Williams only catches 57% of his targets and Darren and Terrance's per season catch averages are not that disparate, it might be more advantageous to go with McFadden's speed and versatility on the offense.

Just wondering if the plan is to keep more RBs than in the past (and I am a huge fan of Darius Jackson too - did you see what Mayock said about him vs LSU?) and to have the Reggie Bush/Marshall Faulk player in McFadden start in the backfield and split out.
