Pats and steelers are more of America's team than Dallas...the jealously continues.

Just coming to post this, i went to the site and voted the cowboys still are but man are they losing hardcore

I don't buy NE. You have to, IMO, have "staying" power to be considered America's Team. No body cared before Brady, and nobody will care after he is washed up. They are more of a regional draw. I would have to consider the Steelers, as much as I hate them, more of a challenger. When the Steelers play a road game, and maybe it is only MNF games, their fans somehow get tickets and invade the stadium. Gotta give it to 'em!

One of the topics on ESPN Radio's Scott Van Pelt Show is whether or not the Cowboys are still America's team. His opinion is that the Steelers have overtaken that title and he has even put a poll up on the show's website to try and prove that the Cowboys are no longer "America's Team." The problem I have with the poll is that the question is "Are the Cowboys still America's team?". It is a yes or no question and obviously the poll is going to say no because, IMO, it will be the Cowboys' vs the other 31 fanbases. I'm going to post a link to the site and I'd love to get enough votes for the Cowboys, even though in the end it doesn't mean squat because we all know the real answer.

I will not give it too them, out of all of the steelers fans i know, which is a lot, honestly there are only 3 of whom who are actually true fans who know football and have followed them forever. Everyone else just see they are winning and know some friends who like them so they sport the stupid jerseys and put stuff like "Steelers Football" or "Steelers Baby!" on their ******* page. I have a deep hatred for them all.

Edit: m*space is a bad word?

Well how come we have such high ratings for our games? People want to check out the Cowboys any year, decade, etc.

You've got to make a story for something when you can't get the Cowboys in the news for anything else.

Someone should let Van Pelt know that Romo has the number one selling jersey in the league. Not Roethlisberger. Not Brady.

Hey Van Melt, that's the best you can come up with to fill time on your show?

How about doing a poll about who is the tallest, dorkiest idiot at ESPN.

True.

No controversies.

The complainers are all gone.

Roy had a decent game last Sunday.

Hmmmm. How about this? Are the Cowboys still America's Team?

That's the ticket.

:laugh2:

There's a better chance of the Jaguars being Americas Team than of him not winning that.

I guess the fact that the Cowboys always have the most watched games means nothing.

Who cares. The Americas Team title is ridiculously corny anyway.

another hater who cannot stand the cowboys and hates that we are Americas team and will always will be ,no matter our post season success.

I sent an email stating exactly that, doubt hell mention it on the air though

And besides, NFL films gave us that title. So, if they have issues with the title take it up with Steve Sabol.

I am pretty sure he is a dc kid and a Commanders fan.

Its hillarious how espn pulls this americas team card everytime Dallas plays well.

What a pathetic corporation.

everytime someone brings this up point them to these 2 little items..

merchandise sales
tv ratings

then tell them where they can stick their poll

We are America's Team. Always have been, always will be.

Ok, the result of the poll was predictably no. However two polls which had multiple choices (not the yes or no format that today's poll followed) showed that the Dallas Cowboys have the most fans in not just the NFL but all of the National sports. When confronted with the facts that we have the highest ratings, sell the most merchandise, etc, Scott says "you haven't won any championships this decade."

Also, because the poll says "no" he decides that means that Pittsburgh is now America's Team for the time being. To this I say, conduct the exact same poll tomorrow, except replace Cowboys with Steelers and I believe you will get the same poll results.

Van Pelt read my e-mail on air. He conveniently left out the most important point. If you think Pittsburgh is America's team....why not make your poll question. Are the Pittsburgh Steelers America's team?
Because he knows the results would not support his point of view.
