Williams has to do a better job of securing the ball, I will not make excuses for fumbling. I also will give credit to see he was active in this game and made some big 1st down plays.

Defensively lack of a pass rush but great job by secondary in my opinion. Chicago was held to 20% on 3rd down conversion and Cowboys created 2 turnovers in this game.

Guys have got to keep on hustling and fighting for everything they can and while no one is going to confuse them with a defense like Denver but I was proud how they fought and after 3 games they are giving up an avg of 20 points which is a lot better than the 30 point a game predictions some here were saying before the start of the season.

Good stuff from Broaddus.

He is right, TWill had a good game, he came up with catches and kept the chains moving. Yes, he had the fumble, it changed the momentum. But the team overcame this. We said Zeke will laern form his fumbles. It happens. Well, fumbles happen with vet players too. They are not immune from it.
As upset as I was with it. I will not hold this against TWill.
What would have tony said...that was as good as a punt......as I believe that was a 3rd down play. Not sure.

Also good stat from Broaddus, it seemed our run defense was porous, but take away those 2 long runs for 59 yards, they had 13 runs for 14 yards. Seems we had a few tackle for losses too at the right times.

Our secondary and LB's are getting more passes defenses too than last year. If we can just get a pass rush going. One more game, then DLaw is back. So then we can see how this helps the D.

So Linehan changes up a bit, puts Dak on the move a bit more, and it worked. So why did he get away from doing with Dez of what worked last week. That part didn't make sense.

And how many of you that were calling for Morris to start over Zeke until Zeke learned better....well, how many ?
And I am taking nothing away from Alfred at all, I am glad we have him.

They were actively picking on Claiborne. There was a series where just about every pass went to whoever he was defending. He held up well enough, but seems teams still think he's the weakest link in coverage.

So you are saying they stayed away from Carr.......

I agree with Bryan that Lawrence will come back as a RDE.

I think the Dez Bryant production changed after he hurt his knee. I think he really was a $70 million decoy after he got injured, even though he got a late TD.

As a coach, I think I'd be hard pressed to put Dez in routes that would test that knee too much before it was fully examined. So while he played, I think yesterday's game plan regarding him, was adjusted.

They Bears might have the best guard combo in the league.

And the worst tackles and a center who's never played the position before.

i would agree about the guards being very good. At least Long. I think Sitton has seen his best days and that's a big part of why the Packers outright released him.

Their center is learning on the job, but he's been great so far. Leno's been solid at T all around. And even though Massie is hot garbage in pass protection, he can hold his own in ground support. The Bears have a solid line overall, and a good run blocking unit.

Seriously? "Take away runs" now?

Sorry, but the fact is that the Cowboys once again gave up the 4.8 yards per rush that they have so far this season, keeping them among the worst in the league. And yes, that means that not only can this defensive line not sack the quarterback, but they don't stop the run well either.

And these results aren't even against good lines or running games either. Unless these issues get fixed, this team will be in for some really rough days.

I don't get it either, how do you take away plays to try and make some point? Plays are plays, if the team gets yardage you can't simply say if they didn't gain yards on certain plays we would have the number one defense.

Agree to disagree. I think you're greatly overrating those other three players.

They play a big role in the fact that the Bears rank 29th in the league in rushing and 27th offensively overall. They're not good.

And that's exactly what any running game is. A series of short to medium runs with some big yardage plays mixed in. Take away those, and anybody's run defense will look much better than it truly is.

T-Will was absolutely being careless with the ball. He was running out of gas and pretty much came to a complete stop in no-man's land surrounded by Bears defenders while holding the ball in his right hand with no security.

It was a big-time mistake and easy strip for the Bears DB

Excuses, excuses, excuses...

No, for to be an "excuse" I would have to be of the opinion that fumbling is acceptable... of course, it's not.

Nor is it when Dez does it..or Beasley...or Zeke.

Of course, some folks around here act as if Williams is the only one who ever screwed up.

Not at all. But when you follow up a screw-up that potentially cost your team a chance to win in week one, with a total disappearing act in week two, with a huge mistake on one of the few plays you do make, it's perfectly reasonable for fans to be upset.

Williams' good play to screw-up ratio isn't anywhere close to what it is for those other players, that's why he rightfully gets more grief than they do.

He did what every receiver would do - tried to turn 40 yards into 50, and as happens often, fumbled while fighting for that extra yardage.

We saw Beasley do it last season against the Giants, and we've seen Dez do it at least once, too. Of course, people will conveniently forget those incidents.
True..

but those other guys are forgiven because they are carrying the offense and handle the ball more.

TWill just makes some bad decisions\plays that magnify because he's not being productive week to week.

It may change as DAK is trying to get him the ball.

I think before it's over..TWill will show up.

not really. it's just that both beasley and dez produce more than twill so when twill gets one of his few opportunities these days to do something good and he jacks it up - yes it magnifies the rest of his poor play this year.

I know. I'm not absolving him of any wrongdoing. I just grow tired of people acting like he's the only one who ever screws up.
