Not at all. But when you follow up a screw-up that potentially cost your team a chance to win in week one, with a total disappearing act in week two, with a huge mistake on one of the few plays you do make, it's perfectly reasonable for fans to be upset.

Williams' good play to screw-up ratio isn't anywhere close to what it is for those other players, that's why he rightfully gets more grief than they do.

I actually agree with you in general there. And it's not like I don't believe in consequences. As for as his "disappearing act" in week two is concerned, I don't think I would characterize playing 44 snaps as disappearing. True, he did not have any targets. How much of that, however, can be attributed to him having a Josh Norman infection? He did spend the majority of his snaps lined up across from Norman.

Is Williams really that horrid when compared to other #2s in the league?

I can excuse some from the team wanting to stay away from Norman, but 0 targets is 0 targets too.

T-Will was absolutely being careless with the ball. He was running out of gas and pretty much came to a complete stop in no-man's land surrounded by Bears defenders while holding the ball in his right hand with no security.

It was a big-time mistake and easy strip for the Bears DB

The said it on the broadcast yesterday (when talking about EE, but it applies to Twill) if you can see air between the ball and the body you are not protecting the ball. Twill was carrying it loosely.

They were actively picking on Claiborne. There was a series where just about every pass went to whoever he was defending. He held up well enough, but seems teams still think he's the weakest link in coverage.

Until he can prove that when a couple of plays are made on him and he wont revert to Mo V1.0 teams will continue to go his way.

He did what every receiver would do - tried to turn 40 yards into 50, and as happens often, fumbled while fighting for that extra yardage.

We saw Beasley do it last season against the Giants, and we've seen Dez do it at least once, too. Of course, people will conveniently forget those incidents.

Many receivers do it, true.

But when it comes on the heels of your other significant play in which you didn't get out of bounds at the end of the game, you can understand why fans are upset with him.

Call it the Leon Lett effect.

"I think Byron Jones is better in coverage than what we saw from him against Zach Miller this evening. Miller did a nice job of working by just being more physical than Jones in his routes. On his first touchdown, I liked Jones’ positioning off the line, but Miller was able to get into his body and push him out of the way. Jones has done a nice job working against those physical tight ends but Miller just got the best of him in this matchup."

Jones was a stud last night. Sometimes you're where you need to be and the offense can still fit it in there. But he was a blanket on whoever he was covering and made a few big plays as well.
He stumbled on the 2nd one or he would have been there

Bench TWill and start Butler.

With TWill likely leaving after this season might as well see what Butler can do.
