BTW, what's the over/under that Peterson doesn't weigh anything close to 225 lbs? I'll take the under.

Fix front 7 on defense
Fix safety position
This is all that matters.

What is Peterson's reputation as a student of the game ?
If he's getting by on sheer athletic prowess then I will change my mind on him as a top 10 pick ( after reading your post ). However, if he's a film and playbook worm, I don't care if he " roams ", or is not " fluid ", or any of the other stuff. I'd pick him at CB and stick him there. I would NOT move him to safety at all.
At CB, if he likes to study, all he has to do is learn the receivers and QBs tendencies. Mostly, though, that's a position where, much like RBs, it's learn a few techniques and let your God given talents take over. Seldom does he have to read offenses or formations to do his job well.
Now, if he's not a filmroom junky or bookworm, then that's a different story because sheer athleticism is not going to be enough and a top 10 pick MUST be a potential franchise cornerstone.
Having said that, I would't complain if the Cowboys get him in the middle of the 1st round ( after a trade down and depending on whom falls to #9 ), even after all the criticism. The reason for that is because it sounds like, at worse, he's another Antonio Cromatie, who had, pretty much, the same criticism coming out of FSU ( aside from the injuries ).

I have no idea where people get this idea that he's " fluid " or a " natural CB ".. He is NOT. He's a natural RUNNING BACK that was converted to CB because of the backlog at RB the Huskers had at the time and the need for DB, and he's anything but " fluid ". Dennard is more " natural " and " fluid " than Prince is.
I'm not saying he's horrible, but no way in heaven I'd spend a top 10 pick on him.

realtick;3806176 said:most if not all of which are very generalized criticisms without specifics.
realtick;3806176 said:We don't hear any positives regarding his game, which is strange for a scout to do.
BHendri5;3806256 said:Prince was a RB, I do not get where you come up with the he was a natural RB, he is built like one, for sure.
All that being said, Prince is a very very good CB, and he is worth the #9 pick, I have said all season that he was the number 1 CB, in College, I am a Husker fan, I watch and record all their games as well as the Irish and the Boys.
Yes, Dennard is also a lockdown CB, and both are a whole lot better than Peterson.

Larry's my boy, but Prince is much better right now than Larry was coming out of school.
