I would take Caleb Williams over him.
I’m a USC homer and can admit they are both very, very good. The Justin Herbert comp is a good one for Maye. Caleb’s comp to Mahomes may be over used but it’s also really accurate. Caleb’s pocket presence and ability to throw from all angles and with great torque is next level.

Fake Cowboys/Eagles fans and Dak haters will eat this thread up. One yahoo thinks we should trade all our players and draft picks for chance to get the next Mahomes even though your more likely to draft a Lance or Wentz.

This is the draft zone. Not the "defend mediocrity at all costs" zone. BTW apparently you missed a recent poll in the fan zone where 45% wanted to move on from the current QB. Yep a lot of fake fans here. Heaven forbid the team actually gets a QB that gives them a legitimate chance to win it all.

Yeah you showing your fakeness. A poll on a message board tells me the fans want to move on from Dak. Go cheer for your Eagles so you can turn on Hurts mid season.

I've seen some highlights of him that seem like he has that potential but the only full game I've watched of him last year was vs Georgia Tech, which was one of his bad games.
Would be nice to continue to pump legit talent at QB in the NFL, so hope he pans out as expected.

I don't think that Maye has Herbert's level of arm strength, but the rest of the comp is pretty solid.

I remember similar things being said about Spencer Rattler this time last year. Give it a season.
Spencer's issue isn't phsyical ability or arm talent.

His issue is ego and coachability. He took a big step last year, but I've know him since he was in high school and he can be difficult to deal with. His attitude was apparent on the Netflix show he was showcased on as well.

I took my daughter (a former college basketball player) to a 7-on-7 tournament at Arizona State and didn't say anything to her about who Spencer was. She immediately noticed he was both "special" and extremely "unlikeable".

It's not only Rattler... how many other highly touted QBs have we seen lose their stock over the course of a season. Sam Howell was going to be a top five pick Heisman in his junior season, Jake Fromm was a future top five pick after a huge freshman season at Georgia. Shoot, I remember the days of future Heisman stud Brian Brohm back at Louisville.

Williams is a guy I can't see losing ground next year, cause he's already a finished product. Threshold physical tools with NFL level mechanics and NFL level processing speed. He could have started in the league last year.

Maye isn't a finished product from the mental side of the game yet. He's kind of on that Jay Cutler spectrum, where a jaw-dropping arm covers up for some other holes in his game. Will Levis was the same way.

I could absolutely see Maye having a Levis style fall this season, if he gets complacent with his craft or smarter DCs catch on to his tendencies.

Really can't stand the overused "generational talent" moniker.
So moronic to say that, as they seem to say it every other year.

But yes, both Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are beasts.
Both are better than any QB prospect in this past draft, imo.

I agree with some of what you're saying except the Will Levis stuff.
Drake Maye has way better touch and accuracy than Will Levis.
The Herbert comps are legit.
Levis was more of an early, undeveloped Josh Allen type

Either way, they keep calling all of these guys generational....seems dumb.
Unless they mean a generation is only 3-4 years

I was honestly hoping not to restructure Dak that way if we have a bad season. Injury excuse or not, MM and Dak could both move on and we could start with a new HC/QB combo. Hoping it was Maye. I think Maye turns into a top 5 QB in 2 years. Put him on the Cowboys with this offense and he would be a top 3. IMO
