There's no difference in an NFL game between a QB who runs a 4.6 and a guy who runs a 4.7, come on.
nearly .2 seconds (4.77 to 4.6) but the point was more that for his size he has pretty significant fat-twitch.
Better escapability, not to mention some running upside...though he'd clearly be drafted for his arm.

anyway. surprised you don't think .17 seconds in the 40 doesn't make a difference at the NFL level.

Not worth arguing though.
I think it's between the ears where they are most different in this case

Maye hasn't even run a 40 that's just a projected number. It doesn't for quarterbacks. Whether you're a 4.6 or 4.8 guy you aren't outrunning anybody so there's no discernable difference. Romo ran like a 5.1 and was plenty fast.

The 10-yard split might or agility drills might matter, for escapability and that sort of thing, but Cutler was more than capable in that regard.

You're too hung up on the mental side. Who knows what Maye will be in the NFL. As prospects, they're extremely alike.

Why Cutler and not Herbert?
Most say Herbert.
Never heard anyone but you say Cutler

And don't get me wrong, Cutler was a beast

I think people just say Herbert out of recency. They say Trevor Lawrence too. Maye has differencesize/mobility and I think a very different release. Herbert has a higher start point where Maye/Cutler start their release a lot closer to the hip more like a baseball. Plus, Maye has more of that "gunslinger" tendency than Herbert ever has. This play below at 47) looks laughably like Cutler I think lol

I also want to be clear that I don't say Cutler as an insult, it's a compliment. People have forgotten what kind of raw talent Cutler had, I think, and that he wasn't dumb, he just didn't really care lol.
