Of course the coaches know the rule..I don't understand how some of you can think this is just a DUMB call?

It was as close as you can get..his whole body was across the line of scrimmage except for his back foot. The viewers got an unofficial line view from watching their televisions and think that the inch he had behind the line of scrimmage based on this unofficial view is reasoning enough not to challenge a go ahead touchdown in a divisional game on the road. I hate to tell you guys this but that line doesn't mean jack.

You think any coach that wants to win keeps that flag in their pocket on that play?

I think that "unofficial line view" is pretty accurate. The announcers say it might not be to cover their own ***. But honest question here. When Wade looks up at the Jumbo tron, does he not see what the tv viewers see?

We've actually run a ton of screens this year and have been successful on them. The problem is that the Eagles are excellent at defending the screen to the RB. They sort of have to be good at it given how much they blitz. The only team I saw have great success running screens against the Eagles were the Bears back in week 4 of last season. However, the Bears ran middle screens and it worked effectively because the Eagles never expected it. We did throw some screens to Ogletree and they worked out fantastic. But I think Garrett has set up this team as more of a slant pattern team as a way to take on the Eagles and Giants blitzes. Then we can use that fake slant-into a draw running play to run against the blitz and then use a sluggo route to beat the blitz deep.

We used the Wildcat instead of traditional HB screens to neutralize the Philly rush. I think you need to broaden your definition of a screen play. I would've hoped Felix would've become a RB screen machine by now but his injuries have slowed him carving out a specific niche. I also wonder if our slow, hulking Olineman are ever going to be suited for that play. But Ogletree and Roy W. made some hay last night with WR screens.
What team are you watching? Kosier and Davis are two of the most athletic guards in the league.

We don't know what replays that Wade or the rest of the coaching staff got to see of the McNabb TD pass. They may not have gotten the view that we got on our TVs or maybe a benefit of a LOS red line that NBC uses. Sometimes you have to make that decision very quickly. It was a close call. If I got a good look of it on replay then I would not have thrown the flag myself. I just don't know what Wade got to see. Idon't think it was a bad challenge. I have seen him make much worse challenge calls.

It was a complete waste of a challenge and a time out. Any replay clearly shows McNabb's back foot behind the line. There was no hope of getting that overturned. This is the NFL, which stands for Not for Long when you start wasting challenges and time outs on a hope and a prayer that the refs see something nobody else on the planet does. Here that Andy Reid? :laugh2:

Well actualy no they don't. The jumbo tron is not playing NBC, CBS, or FOX's broadcast of the game so that "unofficial line view" you are talking about the accuracy of was not viewable by Wade.
