Seahawks release Shaun Alexander

I was wondering, do you think the Bucs will release Simms? I know they gave up on Plummer so they are down to 5 QBs I think.

Not saying we should get him (I would if it was McKown. I was pissed when they signed him.), just wondering.

Well, if released, I think we should make a play for him. He's pretty young, has experience and I would much prefer him than BJ if Romo were to go down.

I heard (I forget who) on the NFLN the other night that if he's released, Miami may have interest in signing him. That's probably the best situation for him 'cause he'd get to play right away.

If Shaun would agree to a one year, cap friendly deal, I'd be really intrigued. I think he may still be somewhat effective in the redzone and would be insurance in case the back we draft turns out to be a bust.

We'd get an experienced backup RB (which, for a playoff team, is probably a good thing). But I'd still want to draft a RB somewhere....

Barber, Alexander, and a rookie would give us a nice rotation of running backs. So long as Alexander understood he was coming into Dallas in a reduced role.

they're looking for a complete overhaul there

I'd just rather draft a RB that can actually run and make plays, and honestly there are probably at LEAST 8-10-12 guys I'd rather draft than sign Alexander even for the league minimum

Not necessarily. When we brought George in, he was expected to carry the load w/ Julius being a rookie and Lee being a one year pro. When George didn't produce, it was a disappointment because he was supposed to have a greater impact. I think Shaun's role would be more as a compliment and whatever production he provides would be a bonus.

We also need depth. As of now, our rbs are Barber and Thompson (and an unproven rookie to be drafted).

honestly, nothing is probably better than Alexander

he just doesnt seem to have anything left...I'd rather have two rookies behind MBIII than waste a roster spot on him...
