First of all, the division winners are dominating the playoffs so far, so I don't follow your argument.

Second, how do you determine who "the best" teams are? The teams play completely unbalanced schedules (with 2 games per division opponent): there's no way to balance that out reasonably in a 16-game season.

Seattle's a division winner they suck...this game sucks...that is what the league will have to figure out, but I doubt theses games are good for ratings, which in turn effects advertising dollars. But I've never been a fan of this system...
