Question is in the title, would you rather have a healthy Sean Lee or Luke Kuechly? Who do you think is the better player?

Recently Jon Beason has said Kuechly is the best MLB in the NFL after 1 season. What do you think? Discuss.

I'm a Lee fan, but I'd go with Kuechly without hesitation.

And that "healthy" disclaimer is a real stretch. When you you measure Sean Lee's value (and it is a lot of value) you must always take into account health.

I love me some Luke Kuechly and actually hoped the Cowboys drafted him in 2012. But I think Sean Lee has proven more in the NFL so far.

Kuechly will be a tackling machine for years to come. Huge Lee fan but Luke is younger, healthier and every bit, if not more, talented.

Going into the 2012 draft the mocks had Kuechly going in the mid-teens, where Dallas was set to pick. The talk last offseason was around Mark Barron and Fletcher Cox at #14 but I thought so much of Kuechly I said I would take him over the other 2 that were more popular in Cowboys-ville.

Of course all those discussions were misguided, as most pre-draft talk is, given how the draft actually went. But it speaks to how much I like Kuechly and given that I think so highly of Kuechly it says a lot about Sean Lee that I prefer Lee to Kuechly.

Kuechly had 164 tackles last season (his rookie year), Sean Lee has a total of 195 for his 3 year career....

My question was that you said Sean Lee has proven more as a pro than Kuechly so far.
I think after just one year, Kuechly has already has almost as many combined tackles as Lee has had in three seasons (165 to 185).
Kuechly has already has led the NFL in tackles.

Anyway, so far, I'd say Lee has not proven more than he has.

I absolutely love Lee (Minus the injuries) but I would take Kuechly over him in a second. That guy is an absolute tackling machine.

This thread shows what a huge steal Lee was. Carolina spent a premium pick to get Luke.

I think honestly it's a complete toss up. Both are outstanding.

The fact that Lee is already a Cowboy makes me pick him. Had we drafted Luke, I'd side with him

It's probably a wash in terms of talent, but a middle round pick vs. I think 9th overall makes you pick Lee easily.

Kuechly. If it's just an even up choice.

Lee can be a top 5 MLB in the league though.

Sean Lee actually recorded more tackles per snap he was on the field in 2012 than Kuechly. He also is a proven turnover machine intercepting 4 passes in 2011, intercepting both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

Want to move away from stats and talk the ability to change a game? Sean Lee made the play of the game in week 1 vs the Giants when he hit David Wilson so hard he fumbled the ball in field-goal range. Kuechly has yet to force a fumble.

All told I prefer Lee's body of work so far in their careers.

Kuechly 165 total tackels per year, Sean Lee 62 tackles per year.:D

Per game (or per carry or per whatever) stats don't mean a lot unless you play almost all the games. Otherwise Felix Jones would be one of the best Rbs in the league.

I will give you this, Sean Lee is a real playmaker and I'm thrilled we have him.

Btw, as a rookie, Kuechly also had 2 ints and 3 fumble recoveries and a sack.
