That is dumb, you take all the money you can get in your nfl career.

Lee will likely have a very long football career, whether playing or coaching. Regardless, he'll be making good money for a long time.

Oh thanks. In that case, he probably is forced out of the game anyway before playing the needed # snaps.

Yeah, the story I read was that he needed to play 80% of overall defensive snaps to get the bonus. He was at 82% going into today. By not playing, he fell to around 77%. Even if he had tried to go, likely wouldn't have been able to play enough to stay above 80%.

Lee is a stand up guy. Really pulling for him to find a way into the pro bowl. Jerry will take care of him we all know that. One of the few bright spots this year.

The Joneses will definitely do something to hook him up. He was held out of a game this year after his second concussion even though he was cleared in the protocol. That will probably be the most deciding factor other than the Jones good will for a great player.

I love Sean Lee. But that was a huge mistake. Perhaps more than most, he's a play away from retirement.

Whatever he does after he's done playing, he'll have a long career. I don't think money will be an issue for him.

It's just amazing how good of a player he is! He catches better than most of our WRs.

I tend to agree with that, but the opportunity to earn $2million in one afternoon might have been once in a lifetime.

If it saved cap space, as a fan I appreciate it.

It is rare to see a player that is not driven by money and greed. In today's society it is considered that the player is crazy for being a decent human being. It reflects his his low our values have become.

..wow!!!.....there's no honor deserving for this team/staff....We are being hoodwinked people. There is no positive team identity on field, no coaching guru, no favorable view of the front office, no ownership genius,.....this is the Circus.

Get paid Sean!! Quit believing in the process.

He's been paid to play in half the games he's been on the roster for. The Jones have been very generous to him indeed.

not saying that he thought of it this way, but i'm sure it's the kind of thing that will come up eventually when they have to decide to keep him for the next season or cut him to save money. so, in that respect, he just traded $2m now for a few more a little down the road.

but, yes, i do believe it was about the principle of the thing for him. just the way he's wired.

and, yes, i do think he'll be a coach when he hangs 'em up. would not be surprised at all to see him work his way from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator...

didn't they bring dat nguyen back as a coach, until he decided to walk away from coaching?

Cut him? When the hell was that even a consideration?

Actually until you mentioned it, I would have been willing to bet that no human being on earth had cutting Sean Lee next season on his mind.
