Sean Lee

However you want to word it, he got beat by his man on that play. Nothing he could do, maybe than get a jam on the guy, and he trailed the whole play. It was a good matchup for them and they did take advantage of it. I thought Rob put Spencer in a bad situation, I'd rather him go after the QB than cover a TE.

Little hard to jam a player that is lined up off the line, but I agree Rob put him in a bad situation.

I'd say the scheme gave up the TD, not Spencer individually but whatever. I don't think the coaches will tell Spencer he should have done a thing differently when they look at it on tape.

Rob is going to gamble that is a big part of the defense and yes there will be times when you leave a guy in a bad situation but you bank on the fact we will win more gambles than lose.

If he can stay healthy, he'll have a pro-bowl like season.

I can't wait for him and Carter to be patrolling the Cowboys middle - TFLs, blanket coverage on TEs and RBs, crunching Michael Vick, sniffing out screens.

Yes im pumped about Bruce Carter.

I bet we see him against the Pats.

Boy I was wrong about Lee. He didn't look good in the 3rd preseason game because Olshanky was letting his man into the second level.

Stop that and he is a total stud

A lot of people didn't think he looked good in preseason. I still don't know what they thought they were seeing.

They were seeing Igor cave in on the ILBs.

This kid is everywhere. This is the kid I saw in those highlight videos when we drafted him. It's like he has transformed into Zach Thomas. He's everywhere with a touch of psycho in him.

Steelers fan texted me earlier today..."I wish we had drafted him."

The kid flashed last year too. Never understood the hyper-criticism of Lee. We had a few numbskulls comparing him to Bobby Carpenter.

He played great today. Again. Last week was not a fluke.

Not to take away from what he did but, props must be given to the big boys up front though. Any time a LB is free to make that many plays the big boys must have done their job.

Mad props to Rob for bring the D back to Big D:

They had 10 sacks in 2 games.
They gave up only 119 rushing yards in 2 games (Gore - a load - got 47 on 20 carries).

We just need to get healthy in the secondary.

If he got beat then he gave up the TD.

Are we giving out gold stars for effort here?

You missed his point. You can't expect Spencer to cover that guy. It was a great call by the OC and a pretty good pass. You're not going to win them all.

Because even though he looked good playing the pass he looked like a boy playing against men vs the run.

Not so much starting about a week ago. He is just awesome so far. Plain and simple.

Loved the pic after I saw a video of him in college at a weight lifting event. The guy will outwork anyone in the NFL on and off the field. Plus he is a leader. He helped coach his defense when he got hurt in college. I now know why his teammates in college nicknamed him Superman.

He was too small last year. I knew he would put in the time during the offseason. I think he'll be even better next year with another year of weight training.

Disagree a bit.

Lee's Indy game last year was an awesome performance by him, and it had nothing to do with his two INTs. He made a lot of plays against the run, blew up a screen, and layed the wood on Pierre Garcon.

Either way, whatever the turning point, I think we both agree that he's seemed to have arrived.

This is total garbage! I think I've mentioned this to you before also but even last year he showed flashes of being a beast against the run.

Any ILB will struggle if the Olineman gets on them quick enough and they didn't have a good read on the run play to shoot the gap. If we put Igor back there then Lee (and James and Brooking etc) will look bad again on some run plays.

I seem to remember plays from him against the run like last year in the preseason where he made a great 4th down stop when he blew up the FB in the hole and single handedly brought down the RB.

Trying to act like that's a weakness in his game is just showing you don't know much about his game.

I told you all Lee would become a franchise player, my favorite pick from that draft class, you all just thought I was hating on Dez? Am I still just hating on Dez?

Lee will become an Urlacher, R.Lewis, Willis type franchise ILB that becomes as important to a franchise as QB. I said it a year ago and all he has done is prove my radical opinion valid. He's a beast.

Another game leading the team in tackles with 9, next closest is sensy with 5 and Ball with. Proving last week wasn't a fluke.

We have so many injuries it's hard to be positive about this win. But thanks for this post. I liked the way Spencer played too.
