The money absolutely means something. And your reasoning is exactly why we are in this position. We don't care about the cap at all which is now we are over $30mm over for next season. Horrible.

The money wasted on these injured gimps can be used for someone else. And the alternative happens every single season. So what's the point of having him here to begin with?

Ultimately there is no point because the team just isn't that good in the first place. They're worse without him.

Not that it's really even that big of a deal. Has anyone actually looked at Lees contract? It's basically as low risk as you can get for the price and the reward is astronomical.

They could cut him after next year and only have $6M in dead money. AFter 2015 and it'd be $4M.

When you factor in his $15M in cap hits, that means that they'd only take a total of $19M in cap hits over 3 years......$6M per year.......for a guy who is worth that and then some.

So yes, it sucks that he's hurt but anyone cirticizing this contract out of all the contracts they could is just looking for something to pile on about.

I am not a fan of how Dallas handles the salary cap and that's been more than documented for at least 2-3 seasons. This ONE particular contract is one of the few that I think are written very favorably for Dallas......because of the injury possibility that was there.

I wish some of you would share that crystal ball you have. So Jerry would know who is going to get hurt and who isn't before he signs them!
And don't give me this injury prone crap. A prior knee injury is no predictor of a future hamstring pull vice versa.
Lee is one if the best at his position right now period. Any team he played on and I mean any. Would have re signed him in a heart beat.
Sucks that he got hurt. Also sucks for Green Bay that Rodgers is hurt. Sucks for every team out there that has one or more of their starters hurt right now. And I promise you. Just about every team out there has a key starter hurt right now.
But it's hard to tell from the comfort of your cozy couch just how physical this game is and just how easy it is for any player to get hurt.

Some players are injury prone, why is that hard to believe?

I don't share my crystal ball..sorry. But you can pretty much predict Sean will get hurt every year & miss games. A magic8 ball can predict that accurately. It's not his fault but rather just his history.

his knee got bent over backwards... NO ONE would have walked away from that unhurt.

god the need for drama is so ****ing strong in many.

missing an average of 4-5 games a season makes a strong case for being a fragile NFL football player. that's not drama, that's reality. i love Sean but he can't be the stalwart leader of this defense when he's in and out of the lineup every 1/4- 1/2 season. noone is is saying he's supposed to walk away from a train wreck but good lord a full season of play would be novel at this point.

I suspected a grade III strain by the way he walked off. 3-4 weeks might be a bit premature? If he comes back not 100%, the chances he re-injures it is pretty high.

Why? Because it's a BS notion,cliche.
Some positions on the field may be more prone to injury than others. Some players may have bad hammies that never allow them to play a full season. But. One persons wrist or knee getting bent the wrong way is no less susceptible to injury than another's.

Yeah, thats what happened to me Senior year in high school basketball. 7 years later and it still twitches and feels like it might pop at times when I play pick up ball or softball. I probably didn't rehab it the best in the world but I sympathize with guys who have hammy issues.

I am in no way comparing myself to a pro athlete but I know its a nagging injury.

Prove it to me doctor.

It is a fact in sports that some players are more fragile than others.

Please tell me you are not serious. There is such a thing as being injury prone.

Are you 10?
