McVay may have conceived an exceptionally weak yet effective deflection on behalf of his quarterback if this thread is any indication.

Did McVay see his boy Stafford cough up the ball at the worst moment?

  • 4th & 3 at DAL 42
    (1:00 - 4th) (Shotgun) M.Stafford sacked at DET 49 for -9 yards (D.Lawrence). FUMBLES (D.Lawrence) [D.Lawrence], RECOVERED by DAL-D.Lawrence at DET 47. D.Lawrence to DET 47 for no gain (R.Reiff).

And even referencing the Dallas game, had they won, it would still only be three games, because they probably would've gotten tossed out the playoffs the next week, too, sooo *shrug*

Man, McVay had to dig deep to pull that game out his arse. This was supposed to be Stafford's time, well here we are...no amout of defending him is gonna help now. For the record, Stafford still looks like Detroit Stafford just with LA.
Stafford had a chance to win the game at the end but then he was introduced to DLaw.

No it wasn't. The guy was stiff arming Hitchens and Hitchens just knocked his arm off his chess. The offensive player initiated the contact.

I’ve had this discussion multiple times. It was PI after a hold also. We got lucky. The guy was trying to get away from Hitchens who also never turned his head. Even if you gave us anything it’s offsetting and they still have the ball running clock. I’ll take the win though

Who want's the play the Rams now?

No, he actually lost that. Matter fact, he choked it away. He had a two position lead for most of the game and fumbled it twice during the last drive.

McVay is a choke artist, as well!

Dallas was at home and favored in that game.
So no, it was not supposed to be Stafford's time.

A very late 4th quarter length of the field game-winning drive, capped by a pass from Romo to Williams won it for Dallas.

But McVay is off on that one.
That one penalty with all that time left did not seal the game.

Maybe some fans can take off the Cowboys blinders to analyze a play after time has passed. Maybe not during game day but better late than never.
