We had no chance to stop Brett Favre and the Packers' five-wide formations, either. How'd that turn out for Favre?

Spread = QB taking big hits.

The fact of the matter is that we didn't stop the Patriots--five wide receivers or otherwise--and they did hang 48 on us, so I'm not sure what's so outlandish about Salisbury's comments. I think it would be different if we played again, but I can't really take him to task for that opinion.

five-wide, empty backfield set.

Those were his exact words. Says they'd put 48 on us.

I think he's an idiot, and I'm pretty sure he might be on meth, but I thought I'd relay the info. He was just on 103.3, for those wondering.

In these situations, it is always fun to think back and remember just who Sean was.....

For reference, here is is "career" stats. ;)

Notice that Romo will beat those stats in a single season.

So when he talks you to remember that he is a tv talking head, not a football player. He has way more time on the TV then in the NFL, including all his years riding the big pine *****.

Yes, I heard the interview in its entirety and I had no problem with it whatsover.

People really need to get over this obsession with the Patriots. Kind of reminds me of the Skins and Eagles fans obsession with the Cowboys :). They beat us by 3 Touchdowns in our own back yard and they had injuries in that game as well.

If we play our cards right and they play theirs, the Cowboys will get a shot at the Patriots in the Super Bowl, and Salisbury stated that.

Unless proven otherwise on the field:

Pats > Cowboys
Pats > Colts
Cowboys > Packers
Cowboys > Giants
Cowboys > Vikings

So you would agree that we have absolutely no chance against the patsies, right? If so, then once we get to the SB, we might as well just forfeit the game because we have no chance against them.

Ok...Salisbury needs to be called out.
When this guy comes up with an ORIGINAL take on the NFL it will be his first.
All I ever see from this guy is him reacting to what the score is or to trends that are developing in the NFL.
NEWSFLASH!!!!
Any NFL fan can do that!
If Salisbury would actually look at why the score in that game was the way it was and remember that Henry was out and Newman was not at 100% then he will have done more homework than he has done now.
Salisbury was quick to note that the Packers did not have players when they lost to the Cowboys and was more impressed with them than the team that beat them. Why?
Because Woodson is seen as a shutdown corner...yeah like Al Harris is a shut down cb. Give me a break.
I am tired of Salisbury and I am tired of the Mouse ears network period.
Get some analysts who actually know more than the final score and know why teams are winning and then you can get my attention.
Until then Salisbury,Greenie and Golic can all go to hell!!

Really, who cares? So what he says we can't beat the Cowboys, he isn't playing the game. No matter who the Patriots play, they will always be favored, so let's be the underdog. The underdogs have nothing to lose. And if we meet up with them in the Super Bowl, and stop them from being undefeated, the '72 dolphins better be picking up our tab.

Yes. That's *exactly* what I meant when I said "I think things would be different if we played again."

You guys are doing the same thing we are doing on the Pats board. That is, responding to sports reporters who for the most part do not have a clue about football.

I simply ignore almost all of these fools. They can yap and yap and it doesn't mean a thing. And yes, there are a few that know what they are talking about, but they are in the minority.

So, IF, and that is the operative word we meet in the SB, you don't know, I don't know, no sports reporter knows what will happen.

So, yap, yap, yap. Just play the game.

If we meet in the SuperBowl and you win then... IT WAS SUPPOSED to be that way according to many....

BUT... if we win...

The Patriots will never live it down... playing inferior opponents to get the 3 SB's in 4 years.. .then playing a REAL team in the Cowboys and losing...

THEN...

throw in the spygate and there will be some heads on some sticks....

Its a win-win for us... IF we meet in SB

Just for the record... I aint conceding anything... IF we meet I think we have a great shot at winning. We can beat "The Greatest Show on Tape" :laugh1:
