His stats were average at best. He was a poor employee for most of his tenure there. He had many off field issues that were a PR embarrassment for the Skins. He lived like a thug and died like a thug......and now the Skins are going to induct him into their Ring of Fame......

I have come to expect nothing less from the Racial Slurs.

Have you ever been there? They have damn near everyone that ever had anything to do with the team/organization on the darn thing. I mean, why would you have Vince Lombardi in it? The man only coached there a year!

Actually he died defending his house and newborn from home invaders.

Only an ignorant person would think otherwise.

Not ignorant....just someone who knows that he refused to leave his past in the past for good. He had tons of money, and should have moved as far away from the thug life he grew up around as possible. But he didn't. Just a year prior he was shooting his guns off....He was trouble, and allowed trouble to follow him. Taylor should have moved closer to the team and into a secured community. It would have been the best thing for his gf and child.

Rather he had off the field issues or not, and I don't say that he didn't, that doesn't mean that doing so meant he allowed, or brought on, people breaking into his home and shooting him. These were theives, looking to rob a home, and they shot him.

To think that because he had a home in Miami, as well as near the team, means he some how brought that on himself goes beyond ignorant.

maybe he knew the people that did this....also, they say attempted robbery, but if i recall from reading about it, nothing was taken....they broke in and killed Taylor and left. I honestly believe it was premeditated and the killers knew exactly who they were going after. Now whether or not the incident had anything to do with his past or not, we will never know.....but it isn't too far fetched to believe that someone from his past could have been involved.

I'm sure we could dig up the stories, but the kids who shot him were not from HIS past, rather they were friends of his sister, I believe. And he lived in a rather nice home in a nice neighborhood.

His death was a very unfortunate incident. Whatever you thought about his play on the field, your theory on his death is pretty off base...especially there are a number of stories on his death proving otherwise.

I remember them saying his house had been broken into a week earlier than when he got shot. Did they take anything from the house then?

Actually, no. They broke in to rob the place, expecting no one to be there (Cause Sean was supposed to be at his home where he stays during the season but he unexpectedly came home there due to be out with an injury) and they shot him, cause he surprised them, and they ran off. THey didn't stick around to try and snag nothing after they shot someone. They high tailed it out of there trying to not get caught. So your bias, either cause he's a Skin player or you simply have something against him cause of what he may or may not have done in his past is noted.

This exactly. A little fact checking would have been easy but that doesn't go with the agenda of smearing a dead man's name simply because he played for the Skins. At least I hope that's the reason he wants to act that way otherwise the other alternative is an even less pleasant one.

The Sean Taylor sycophantic behavior is disgusting.

He was a talented, but not a great player. He was no better than Darrent Williams was for the Broncos, and you don't see the Broncos milking that garbage like the Skins do.

He was not someone who should be looked up to. He was not a role model. His death was tragic, but the ******* Skins fans are still acting as if a great person and great player was killed. It's BS on stilts. He was neither a great person nor a great player.

Sean Taylor does not belong on any list of great players.

But I guess he belongs on the Ring of Honor because apparently every player and coach to ever step foot into Commanders locker-room get puts into that. I'm sure that they will be adding in Bruce Smith and Deion Sanders soon, as well. It's such an exclusive club, and all.

Lombardi coached a year before being diagnosed with cancer during training camp and dying two months later. He's in there because the Skins wanted to honor him in front of his family. Silly Commanders.

No. The Skins just wanted to try to lay claim to the Lombardi legacy. It's a joke.

The term is "co-opt."

You are trying to co-opt him because he is widely considered a legend. He is not a Commander. He did nothing for your franchise. He was 7-5-2 as a coach in his one year. Wow.

If it had been Joe Blow who came to the team and lead him to 7-5-2 in one season and then promptly died, he wouldn't be in the ring of honor.

But because Vince was great with the Packers, your idiot team is trying to co-opt his fame and claim he is part of your franchise.

He isn't.

He isn't any more part of the Commanders then Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, or Jason Taylor---people who were great elsewhere and came to the Commanders for one last pay check.

We had 14 straight losing season before he came in, but even if he had been 0-14, they would have added him because of the circumstances. It was a symbolic gesture, and you're a joke if you think the Commanders did something wrong by honoring him in that way.

No, your team is the joke. Pathetically trying to co-opt the legacy of Lombardi which exclusively belongs to the Packers just because he came out of retirement to collect one more paycheck.

Your team just honored itself. That's all it did. "Yay! We had Lomardi coach us!" His honor was being kept in Green Bay where it belongs.

Just like this DISGUSTING display you are doing now with Sean Taylor.

You aren't honoring a player. You are honoring the great suffering of the Commanders fans for their loss. You are honoring his death.

Y'all have created this sycophantic FAKE conception of Taylor and honoring your loss.

Unfortunately, I can't teach you what respect and honor mean. That was your parents job, and they failed you.

No, you can't, because you don't have a clue what those words mean.

Again, if it had been coach Joe Blow who coached one average season with your team, would he be there?

Of course not.

But because it is Lombardi, you try to co-opt him. Far from being respectful or honoring him, you dishonor him by trying to use him.

You're a damned fool idiot if you think him being there is about ANYTHING other than the Skins trying to co-opt the legacy of someone whose greatness is tied exclusively to the Packers. This is about trying to make a middling franchise seem like it is associated with greatness. It is nothing about honoring someone else.

It would be as moronic as the Jets trying to put Brett Favre in their ring of honor just because he came to collect one last paycheck there. "Look! We had the league's #1 passer of all time! We rule!"

Pathetic. And fitting for the Commanders.

I will attempt to not get banned in this post....

There was never any proof that Taylor pulled a gun on those THEIVES who stole his ATVs. And he likely never had one, considering he tried to defend his family with a machete, and not a gun.....use your brain.

Furthermore, the kids who killed him lived 100 miles away and thought he wasn't how since it was during the season. The robbery and killing had nothing to do with "thug life" or whatever prejudice, ignorant nonsense you've claimed.
