That's because they are sheeple. They believe the hype that sports media is pushing. Sports media is offense centric. They are always glorifying offenses. Then they push the narrative that the rules have changed to help the offense. Like DB's couldn't get called for holding or illegal contact back in the early 90s.
With all the glorification of offenses and the quarterback position in particular, sheeple tend to think that a QB can elevate the play of those around him. They believe that because sports media says so. But the truth is... how can a quarterback elevate the defense? See sheeple tend to forget, that as soon as Russell Wilson lost that great defense he couldn't carry his team to Super Bowls anymore. Sheeple tend to forget, that every time the Cowboys won a Super Bowl in the 90s they had a top 10 defense. Sheeple tend to forget, that Tom Brady had one of the best defenses in the NFL year in year out. So the question still remains, what can a quarterback do to elevate his defense?
These sheeple look at the weapons Romo once had. They look at the weapons Dak has had. But they forget about the defenses that these guys played with. With sports media so focused on the offense, these guys just fall in line with sports media. And that's why I call them sheeple.
Did Dan Marino have a great defense all of those years? Did Warren Moon have a great defense all of those years? Has Aaron Rodgers had a great defense every year? Did Drew Brees have a great defense all of those years? But these guys want Dak to do something that Hall of famers have struggled to do... Win it all without a great defense.
