3-3 and embarrassed isn’t the place you want to be after six games, but the season is far from over and is still salvageable. Win your next two and you’re 5-3 and nobody will remember this beatdown. The only way we can save this season from going completely off the rails now is we need a new QB. Trade Dak NOW. Get all the assets you can get. There is a team out there that will take on his contract. Some owner will believe he is the missing piece to their puzzle. I beg you Jerry. Correct your mistake now. Please salvage this season!!
3-3 is very fortunate considering they are without a legitimate starting DE or even a legitimate backup. They have two starting CB's returning from the type of injuries that typically take about 18 months to regain their previous physical abilities. The primary backup was also nicked. They were without their starting MLB.
And that is just some of their issues on defense.
I'm wondering where we are going to get this mystical QB that can be productive without any semblance of a running attack while being protected by a line that is 40% rookies.
Besides, I'm sure most teams have 60 million dollars laying around to trade for the highest paid player in history.
Dak Prescott is the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. Most teams would do their best to protect such an investment with a quality line composed of superior blockers and a running attack that prevents teams from keying on the passing game.
Jerry doesn't see it that way. Not understanding competition at the professional level, he still believes that higher salaries should motivates players to a higher level of performance. Since Dak makes double the salary of the average QB, Jerry expects his QB to perform at a level that is twice as productive.
Under those circumstances, reasons Jerry, Dak should be able to make for the lack of a productive running game.
In reality, since the beginning of this century, no team has scored 47 points while running the ball for 53 or less yards.
The decision to ignore the RB position in both the draft and free agency was not Dak's.
Dak had no say when it came to how the team was going to replace two former Pro Bowl offensive linemen with two rookies.
Dak did not develop the culture responsible for this marshmallow defense along with a complete reversal of their previous style.
I'm not saying that Dak doesn't deserve criticism. I'm saying that the greatest percentage of blame for this dismal Lions game lay on the shoulders of Jerry Jones, GM pretender.
