Season will come down to Defense

Jerry was trying to maximize building time with the very best positional specific talent in the past three drafts...don't like inherent gambles, keep away from sport. All decisions are a gamble in planning or injury on the field...the binding element is the challenge...and no, Jerry doesn't affect THAT on the field.

Jones, Smith, Lawrence, and Gregory were all good selections. We'll have to see the payouts on players such as Crawford, Collins, Hitchens, Tapper, and Wilson are...but I wouldn't start proclaiming all of that just a crap shoot.

Lawrence and Gregory may have talent but that talents is unless if they are missing games. 1 will miss 4 and the other is looking at 10. Losing one I think would be easier to overcome but to lose both for the same reasons and having to depend on others who have less experience that these 2 who themselves are still not proven. They show signs of being able to develop but you can't develop when you are not even able to suite up and play.

Playoffs will come down to defense.

Getting off the field on 3rd down in Lambeau will determine the season.

IF we do get to the Superbowl then not letting Brady chip away at our defense all day will be key.


Avoiding Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers is key for us because we have nothing for them.

Anyone else i'm not too worried about.

Carolina is no slouch, they can hang the points up and have a very solid defense who can keep even top offense from putting up a lot of points. I do agree advancing in post season which again I think the Cowboys can do will come down to defense.

The price of a purchase goes onto the accounts of a head coach, immediately...but the purchase price of a 'rook' is spread over up to three seasons. There is still time on the hour glass for both...and I think Lawrence already is ahead of the bell curve right now.

Defense is always the determinant for any team making the playoffs....and I don't think you're going to see Gregory at all this year, he'll probably have his suspension extended to include the season....

I disagree, I think the season comes down to staying healthy as a team and not losing guys like Romo, Dez, Lee etc. This defense is improved from the 2014 season so I don't think that will be a problem.

Yep.

The offense can keep up with anybody.

The question is can the defense stop anybody? The answer to this question determines where this team ends up.

That, and turnovers.

The Cardinals and Seahawks are both very capable teams. We are very probably underdogs if we play them.

In the end, it's about defense, injuries and turnovers. The offense will do their part.

I want to be in a position where we can bring on anyone. Dallas played GB tight Cam on the other hand was a nightmare and the defense of Carolina was super bowl ready, GB is not

Agree but I like our chances better against Cam. Just my preference.

We beat Seattle that year and I felt like they were better than GB.

It's just a matchup problem playing a QB like Rodgers with a defense that is outmanned.

Cam? Heck give me a lead and let him try to pick our zone apart. I'll take my chances with him.

Yes I am worried about defense because last season when teams needed to move the ball down the field they did so pretty easily. I think there are teams where our defense will be good enough and some teams that unless defense plays to a higher expectation they will get ran over. Again I think they can win the east the concern is once you get into the post season there will be some good teams waiting and offense is not going to win alone.

Health is a big part and if offense stays relatively healthy as I said I think this offense can be championship caliber however games are not going to be won on offense alone. As for the 2014 they did a good job but when you go into GB can you stop them? 2014 defense could not and that was with a gimpy Rodgers. I'm not giving up on defense but I have got to see more out of them, they have to get turnovers but they have got to stand up and make critical stops especially late in games when the pressure is on.

They absolutely roasted us. But it did sort of feel like the way PHI roasted is in 2014. Then we came back and beat them badly a few weeks later.

Each game is different. CAR's got a really good team, but I'd like to play them again and see how we'd stack up.
