Security Certificate Errors on my computer...

Okay, someone get the obligatory "stop looking at porn" joke out of the way.

But, for some reason, I all of a sudden keep getting warnings about security certificates on virtually every website I go to. This has just started today. It's very annoying.

On this site, for example, I get "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors."

Never happened before.

Could someone please assist?

Depending on your browser, you can view your certificates. I'm assuming you're using Explorer. You can go to Tools, then Internet Options, then click on the content tab. There's a certificate tab and you can browse through those to see if there's an issue. It's frankly, pretty tedious and Firefox and Chrome are better at handling that side of things.

If you don't do updates on IE that will fail.

If you upgrade or have not installed the lastes upgrades? It takes time to upgrade...it will boot and boot for many times.

Stay ahead of the problems.

Check the date and time on your computer.

Also, from IE go to tools and run Windows Update that way. Download all critical updates, and in optional updates "root certificates update".

If Windows update is failing through IE you have a problem that needs to be fixed.

I've had a really craptastic experience with Firefox in the past few weeks. I use a window with multiple tabs for my work tools. Several times a day, when I have more than one process at a time working, the browser crashes.

It also seems to be a bit of a resource hog.

I like it, but the crashing is enough to drive me back to IE for my work stuff.

Firefox is totally overrated unless you're using it in Linux. IE 4 life.

Haven't tried "Google Chrome" yet though.

I like firefox and I used to like opera.

Chrome Google is good if you like a minimalist type browser.

IE..meh hardly ever use it.

But it is nice cause the wife does so she has her own settings on it and I have mine in firefox so it works out ok.

i have firefox installed to see if any errors i have are IE related or the page itself. in using it there are some cool features it has, but in the end it's kinda all the same. i hate the way firefox handles outlook web access, for example. it keeps everything in the browser vs. opening new windows for my mail. makes moving things around hard.

it's all just pesonal preference and they're all good products.

I open two or three FF browsers open with anywhere from 5 to 10 tabs open in each one. All day long.

It rarely crashes.

Its just a case of different user experiences. Different systems, age of systems etc.

I think there is a setting where you can change the tabs/new windows options.

Might be a plug in.

my IE has a memory leak of sorts and a conflict w/java. i've just not felt like tracking it down so after awhile i ned to nuke all instances of iexplore.exe and start over.

then again, i'm building a new machine this weekend. core 2 duo extreme w/8gig, 400gb system drive and (2) 1tb drives mirrored for backup purposes. will also put my bluray reader in it, but don't need a burner just yet. they're still coming down in price pretty fast.
