Sell me on Styles

This. This is why i would hate to move up for Sonny Styles. If we move up it should be for a DE (Bailey or Reese). You can find decent linebackers later in the draft.

I’d normally agree. But if I’m moving up and getting an early second rounder? I don’t mind Styles then.

And I am not going to put Styles on a pedestal b/c of a great combine. The whole world knew he was a freak athlete that shouldnt have surprised anyone. His production was too mediocre to be in the same tier as the guys I referenced.

Well let’s throw out keywords like blue chip or elite or premium. Because at the end of the day we don’t know what these guys are in the NfL.
I’m looking for someone to improve my defense from worst to decent.

Now me personally Bain, Bailey, Downs I don’t care. I’m fine with all. If Bailey, Downs, Reese and Styles are on the board it’s a different discussion. If I’m trading up to 6? For this defense there’s no wrong answer but if Styles hits his ceiling my defense is improved. If I get Downs now I have to pray I find a linebacker.

I’ve watched a bit of his highlights, I watched the Indiana game, supposedly the game where he pops off the screen.

I see ability. I see a good player. I see a sure tackler. I see an athletic player

I don’t see wow. I don’t see game changer. I don’t see culture changer on the field. I don’t see a guy worthy of a top 5 pick.

For those of you who love Styles, what am I missing. Point in the right direction so I can try and see what you see

Good post. I see a better version of Fred Warner. I have watched San Francisco linebackers beat the crap out of us in two recent playoff embarrassments. I see Styles and Overshown being younger version of Warner/Al-Shaar.

I understand that but if that’s what we are doing why have a draft? Downs could flop. Reese could flop. I don’t go into thinking the worst. People can have their preferences but to pretend like all 3 can’t help us is nonsense.

And Brady went in the 6th. Richard Sherman in the 5th. If teams knew Kuechly or Wagner would be as good as they were they would be top 2 picks.

Correct.

He was being mocked to Dallas at 20 pre combine, so yes, a lot of fans were excited about the potential of him being there and even 12 when he was picking up steam.

Now there are some fans that don't want to give up draft capital to move up to get him bc of the combine verifying athleticism that a lot of us already knew was there.
